Waterman Man 100 Vs Man 200

I have not been able to find the dimensions of the Man 100 or Man 200 models. I've only seen the Man 200 described as a "thinner" version of the Man 100. Well, it's also shorter and lighter. Here are my own measurements along with those of a couple more familiar pens, for your interest.

Thanks OP. It's kind of hard to distinguish man 100 and man 200 from just pictures. The best way might be to look at the top of the cap. Man 200 has an extra circle.

When I bought my first modern Waterman (a Man 100 Opera  ), I had never laid eyes on either a Man 100 or 200. I really wanted a comparison to pens with which I was familiar but could not find one. The above table was what I wanted then. I hope it's helpful to some future first-time Man shopper.

I'd not noticed the cap logo difference until you brought it to my attention. Thanks!

Thanks for the table. I usually check the feeds. I seem to remember reading somewhere here on FPN that 100s have a finned feed, while 200s have a smooth feed.

That is true for the ones I have.

I had envied the Man 100 for some time. I by chance saw one at a Christmas Sale reduced from over $1,000 to $350. So methinks what a store cards for and picked it up. It had the centennial nib which I promptly archived. Lovely pen , at the moment I am running South Seas Blues Cartridges through it. I only have three Waterman fountain pens as well as the Man I have a gold filled Gentleman (which I got at a Christmas sale also reduced to $125 from $850 ) and a student pen my sister bought for me at Watermans in Marseilles.

Love my Man 100, one of my best pens it is now about 25 years old.

Cheers

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
