Goulet

Just want to express my sincerest appreciation for Goulet Pens. They routinely go above and beyond. I bought a pen from them recently that appeared to have a manufacturers defect in it (pen and part to be left unnamed).

Not only did they send a replacement part (too my appreciation, I didn't want a whole new pen). Not only was the part in my mailbox within 2 days, the also sent me a free ink sample with it.

Thanks again, Goulet Pens. Don't ever change.

Jason

I'm pretty sure this is the wrong section, but I completely agree. Goulet Pens is an amazing place to buy from, and I'd recommend them to anyone!

The Goulets are awesome, but I think what really sets them apart more than being great people is their marketing savvy. Frankly, I have dealt with pretty much nothing but nice people since I entered this hobby. The Goulets are nice, plus they have tried to innovate and be extremely accessible. I feel a bit awkward about praising them so much but at the same time they deserve it. I just don't want other retailers who are also very good to feel under-appreciated, if that makes sense.

Family-owned and operated businesses have the advantage of high quality control, and the liability of having to work extra hard to maintain their reputation. We're lucky to have them. It's also fortuitous that they aren't competing with WalMart. Definitely a niche to serve weirdoes like us.

The Binders and the Grays also fit into this market. I haven't bought from the Nussbaums yet. But have gotten great service from Pentime.com.

With many mom-and-pop businesses, the service is sorely lacking unless you actually deal with Mom or Pop. But when I receive an order from The Goulet Pen Company, everything is wrapped as expertly and thoroughly as Brian would wrap it himself. The packing list has a personal, upbeat handwritten note from Alex, indicating which ink she used to write it. The whole team understands the importance of service and reputation. A very nice accomplishment.

Another vote for Goulet pens superb packaging and service from all the way down in Australia. I recently ordered a couple of Noodler's pens through Goulet pens and they arrived in better condition than anything I've ever had delivered.

In addition a friend of mine was amazed at the Noodler's Rollerball so as soon as he left I jumped online to order him a couple for his birthday this week. It was the 30th of December and I noticed that the store said they would be undertaking an inventory on that day, so I was not expecting the package to be sent until after the new year and possibly not until after my friends birthday.

However to my amazement the order was processed and sent that very day. It arrived on Monday in time for my friends birthday (once again packaged impeccably).

Thanks Goulet Pen Company, from a very impressed customer.

Just wanted to chime in with my Goulet Pens experience:

I recently purchased a Noodler's Flex Nib pen and a Noodler's ink sampler; I received the automatic confirmation email right away, and a notification that my package had been shipped after only 2 hours and 15 minutes. The package arrived the next day, much to my pleasant surprise.

Definitely recommended. Goulet folks, if you're reading this, keep it up.

Another High recommendation for Goulet Pens! I bought my Edison Collier there a couple months back, and I also just received several ink samples that I ordered from them last week! Always good service, and great shipping! I have also bought directly from Brian at the DC Pen Show.

I have only used Goulet Pens for getting ink samples and the service is excellent, getting shipments intact to Germany with same day postage as order. I only wish they had a base in Europe as well , but still with access to all the inks and notebooks. :)

That would be awesome.

I'm convinced that all of the shipping price goes into packaging. :roflmho:

We should do testing to see which is more durable - Noodler's Bulletproof Ink or the box it comes in? :ltcapd:

I could not be happier with my experience with Goulet Pens. I am very to fountain pens. I received my first fountain pen -- a Lamy Safari -- 2 weeks ago (from another online dealer).

After reading the forums here, searching for ink and journal recommendations, I came across Goulet Pens.

Long story short, I emailed Goulet and received a response from Brian an hour later. Not once did he try to sell me something, but instead offered solid advice. In fact, he recommended I stick with the Safari for at least a couple of months before I considered another pen.

How many company's talk you out of buying something?

I could not be happier, and will only order from Goulet from now on!!

Thank you Brian!!

He wants you to be a happy long term hobbyist and customer rather than becoming dissatisfied with things and abandoning fountain pens. It's one of those situations where good customer service is also in his best interest. After all, you can only scalp them once but you can give them a haircut every two weeks. You may have just found a barber. ;)

That would be awesome.

Their shipping is very reasonanable, however. I ordered something from Levenger recently and shipping alone was $20. I've ordered stacks of notebooks from the Goulets and shipping wasn't near that.

Here are the facts:

Today, the Goulets stocked the black Ahab among other newly stocked and restocked Noodler's pen items. They listed the new items at approximately 12 PM.

I ordered my black Ahab at 12:16 PM.

My order was shipped at 2:09 PM.

That's absurd. I love those guys.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
