Waterman Goutte Ink Converter

Hi there.

We have a lovely Waterman Goutte in ROlled Gold.

I have 2 issues. FIrstly I'm pretty sure we used to have an Ink COnverter but somewhere in the last 30+ years of ownership this appears to have done a runner.

I am trying to find out what converter was originally supplied with the pen so that I may purchase one. It's a CF pen and I can't remember if it was a twist fill or a squeezy one...

Secondly the spring loaded clip is..well it isnt spring loaded any more it's floppy and loose...Is there any way I can take apart the cap to repair it. I even have a donor Goutte Cap with mint spring and clip if I need to change it. But without knowing how to take it to bits it's no help.

ANy help greatly appreciated.

Hi Buzz

Can't help you with the clip. But for CF-pens converters can still be found (not cheap). I remember reading about a UK-based dealer that had some, and Lewertowski in France probably has them as well. And you could mail Waterman themselves if they have some.

I remember prices in the vicinity of GBP20.

Waterman don't (can't) repair spring clips on the more modern pens. Certainly with the Carene there is a pressed in, plastic, insert which can only be removed by RST methods (an engineering term which I cannot expand on here). In this case Waterman only offer complete cap replacement.

I very much doubt Waterman have spares for the CF pens so you may have to do it by trial and error.
