Eberhard Faber "school" And "noblot" Pens

Hello. I'm new to this forum and have searched prior posts but didn't find anything relating to my interest. When I was in elementary and junior high school, all of my teachers used Eberhard Faber pens, blue and red. I loved them and would try to poach them whenever I could. The ones I really liked had "School" in cursive written toward the top. They were yellow wooden pens with an inch long (or so) blue or red plastic part at the end, and the point of the pen was longer than most pens--maybe a good 1/4 inch or more. They had white erasers encased in either a gold or almost bronze colored metal piece.

The "Noblot" version I believe was plastic versus wood. They came in red, blue, or black, and instead of the inch long plastic part at the end, they had a smaller color part (red, blue, or black) which had a zig-zag pattern.

Does anyone know what I'm talking about? And if so, does anyone know where I might find them, particularly the "school" ones? I'd love to have a box or two for old-times sake.

Thanks,

Greg

Hello Greg,

Well, I hope you see this. It has been almost a year since you posted on the Noblot pens.

I found your post by searching for info on the Eberhard faber Nobot ball point models. One just turned up in a lot of pens and pencils I just bought. Mine is an all metal shiny chrome one with NOBLOT on the clip and Eberhard Faber USAat the bottom of the upper section.

Do you have any more info on them?

Thanks,

Hi Michael,

In making a post about a Parker 51, I reviewed this earlier post and recognized your "handle." I just bought an EF pen "Bismarck Tribune Co." from you on Ebay. It's great. I got it writing again. Thanks, and please think of me if you get any more "Noblot" or "School" EF pens!

Thanks for the great transaction.

Greg

So after a couple of years, I finally have secured some Eberhard Faber Noblot pens! I can't get the 2435s to write, but I did get the 2235 "Bismarck Tribune" to write. I have fond memories of these pens from my elementary and high school days.

As noted above, if anyone knows of sources for purchasing more of these, particularly in red, blue, or black, I'd be interested.

Thanks!

Greg

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
