Yes, I binge quite often, but I would simply say that I constantly purchase. However, I am not putting anything in print on the internet that could find its way back to my wife!

Glad I am not alone.

Haha, I like the use of "Lamy'd" as a verb. Very nice. I did get my Fountainbel demonstrator and added to this thread with a couple of photos, but I haven't done my own review as of yet. :)

I used to. But then a friend gave me a Cross Townsend.

To gut a long story short, it's such a good pen that I've never since found the need to buy any more.

I would like a decent vintage Conway Stewart though.

Was looking around Teri's site and on a whim decided to order a Sheaffer 440 and Imperial II Deluxe. Was considering a 51 and an Esterbrook, but not this time. Maybe I'll have a moment of weakness in the near future.

Over the last couple of weeks:

Another Parker 45

Another Sheaffer Prelude (chrome with nickel trims)

Another Sheaffer Prelude (black with nickel trims)

Baoer 388 (black and gold)

Baoer 388 (chrome and gold)

A 10 piece Hero pen set

A Hero 336 Arrow

I was really out to get just a bunch of cheap Chinese pens since I rediscovered my love for the Hero 616 and the Wing Sung 233 (and based on a review of the Baoer from another FPNer). The Sheaffers were based on a sudden impulse that I needed to have a Prelude in every color (with each nib size per color scheme).

I no longer own any fountain pens... Now they own me.

Lots of very sick people here.

I feel right at home.

what I didn't read anything about is how buying and binging effects spouses?

I make the money but Linda my wife pays all the bills. No hiding anything from my love.

As much as I try to explain how much "I need it" she refuses to understand.

Ebay just put a stop on my regular credit card and told me I need a paypal credit card because... are you ready for this... I exceeded the 10,000 limit.

So now I have pay paypal credit card.

Did I mention my wife is beautifull even when she is mad.

My binges go by brand or enthusiasm of the moment. So right now, it's Sheaffer balances - buying fixer-uppers wherever I see them and trying to put together all the different celluloids. I went through a big German piston phase earlier this year, that's gone a bit quiet now tho I just acquired a lovely Merlin 33.

But ebay throws a bit of a spanner in the works. Sometimes you're not planning a binge but you end up winning a lot of bids. And sometimes you're trying to binge but you get pipped at the post for everything you bid on. The same goes for car-booting and antique shopping - sometimes you find loads of good stuff, sometimes you draw a complete blank.

Too many pens, too little time!

I'm a believer in quality over quanity. I don't see the point in buying 5 cheap pens which you will get bored of or not even like from the start. Instead I'd rather buy a fewer number of quality pens. As a result I can't afford to binge buy. This year has been my most prolific but I've only bought 5 pens, on two occasions though I bought 2 within a week of each other.

So much for this post. Between Tuesday and Friday this week I've bought the following, which is a haul I don't I'll ever top.

X2 bottles of MB Swtift ink

X1 bottle of MB Diamond ink

MB Swift Cufflinks

MB Swift fountain pen

MB Hemngway fountain pen

My Collection: Montblanc Writers Edition: Hemingway, Christie, Wilde, Voltaire, Dumas, Dostoevsky, Poe, Proust, Schiller, Dickens, Fitzgerald (set), Verne, Kafka, Cervantes, Woolf, Faulkner, Shaw, Mann, Twain, Collodi, Swift, Balzac, Defoe, Tolstoy, Shakespeare, Saint-Exupery, Homer & Kipling. Montblanc Einstein (3,000) FP. Montblanc Heritage 1912 Resin FP. Montblanc Starwalker Resin: FP/BP/MP. Montblanc Traveller FP.

I grew up in Texas and a popular saying there was, "Go big or go home". Well, Brandon, you certainly went BIG! Wowza!

I am on a self-imposed pen buying moratorium that began June 15 and runs through the end of this month. 45 days of no pen purchases. Its the hardest thing I've done in a while. The reason? Well, I was one of the first to order a Fountainbel Bulk Filler, and when it became apparent it would be awhile, I sort of gave myself permission to get some other pens. Forty pens later I realized things had gotten WAY out of control (some may have noticed the problem earlier on, but not me), hence the moratorium. Now that the Fountainbel is on its way to me I am beginning to wonder how things will go come August 1. Hmmm.

David, 40 pens later? Your outa control Buddy! I've been there, errr maybe I'm there :-)

My interest in fountain pens has come and gone several times since I was a kid. However, when it returned about 4-5 years ago, it did so with a vengeance (enabled in part by my discovering FPN . . .). I binge-purchased like crazy off and on for about a year, including on ink (someone was selling PR and JHerbin for great prices on ebay around that time). Easing up on the ink came first, then backing off the pen purchases. I'm now at the point where I've got a few specific pens on my to-get list but otherwise I've found that I'm more interested in using some of the pile of pens I've gathered than in buying new ones. (I have to admit that I binged again during a recent trip to Beijing; however, it was a once-in-a lifetime opportunity and I'm letting myself off the hook for that.) I may even be getting to the point where I'll start selling some of my pens--especially the duplicates and the ones needing repair that I'll likely never get around to fixing or having fixed (like 15-20 Esterbrooks I somehow now own). We'll see how long this current phase lasts.

In about the last month I've bought:

5 different Noodler's Inks

Parker 51

Parker 45

Sheaffer Prelude

Noodler's Ahab

Simple box for pen & ink storage

Loupes

And some cheaper fountain pens and equipment totaling about $250.

You are not alone.

I went to a new restaurant in Tucson. Not only did I get the biggest burrito they had, but I also got a Sonora hot dog. It was a lot. I ate it all.

Oh pens? I got two Baoer pens in one evening for $11-12. I felt sick afterwards. Who needs more than one fountain pen?

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
