I had a very simple one made up by these people. Admittedly, it was just initials from their stock type faces but I reckon they could be a starting point, even if not in your home country.

Very very nice! I think that would look great as a seal.

My latin is somewhat lacking.

Something? Love Reading...right?

Always. Semper means always, as in Semper fidelis: Always Faithful (US Marine Corps motto)

Edited to say - Durr - shouldn't type before coffee of a morning! Because I meant to also say - lovely image Meghan, I agree it should look terrific as a seal. When you find somewhere, will you go for a rectangular seal rather than a round coin? It seems to lend itself more to that.

Thanks for the link, Captain! I've sent them an email.

Moagy, I'm debating between square and round. The image will be inverted, of course. Here's a mock up of what each would potentially look like. Which one do you guys think looks best?

Oh, and the Latin is roughly, always love learning, though there's a neat little play on words in there, since literarum also translates to letters. Teehee.

Looks good. I say go for the rectangle.

I have one which says "Semper in excretum. Solum profundum variat".

Hmm, difficult. I do like the look of the round and it fits so much better than I envisioned, but knowing the size of the coins I wonder whether it would lose too much definition... I generally prefer round to rectangular seals so I'm leaning a little towards the round!

So I see you have both worked in the private sector too, then. If not, perhaps local government? Or maybe the wonderful perplexing world of Academia?

:roflmho: Fantastic.

I have a couple of emails out for price quotes and recommendations. I've asked each company for their recommendations on the clarity -- I want to make sure it has a nice, crisp look. I'll keep everyone posted. Can't wait to receive it!

I have been a public servant my whole full-time working life, but no, not local government. Still, I have encountered a fair share of the brown stuff in my time!

Maybe you can choose the rectangle and then grind away the lower edges to conform to the shield?

Okay, this isn't perfect by any means but I've done a quick play around with the images in photoshop to see if we can (sort of) see what they are like as seals at about the right size... does it help any?

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
