Thanks Hari, have you ever use this pen ? ( or somebody else ? ) I need some opinion about the nib.

I may be wrong, but it looks to me very much like a modern pen made in China. The price is probably a give-away.

I agree with you. I have also bought this pen from his friend Rahul who is running wancherpens.com site in india. I win the bid for INR 135 approx US $3.

No converter included

And how does it write ?

It should write well. Most Chinese pens, even the really cheap ones, write pretty good. You might have issues with starving feed and no ink, but a good converter or a cartridge would hopefully fix that.

Maybe this thread belongs in 'writing instruments' since it is likely a Chinese pen, not a Japanese.

A little confused. You say you got this pen from Taizo, who sells Japanese pens - but this is likely a pen from China, and the link you include is to an eBay store that is not Taizo's?

The seller seems not to be Taizo (engeika on ebay). Although his goods might be located in Japan, most of them are Chinese pens.

The eBay 0588_tiger shop, like engeika, are both operated by Taizo, with engeika selling mainly Japanese products and 0588_tiger concentrating on stationery and other nick-nacks from other Asian countries. I bought a Chinese pen from this vendor last year, and it was Taizo who answered my emails.

yes, it is true that eBay 0588_tiger shop is run by Taizo.

One more is there: lifeisnice03 ( this is also run by Taizo But it is being looked after by his Indian friend Rahul)

A few of these Chinese pens show up on Yahoo Japan from time to time. They are very similar to Delta pens in appearance and the plastic provides a looks that belies their cost. Incredible bargains. I think we snagged a handful for under $30 each. Sold very quickly at LA Show a year or two ago. Yes, they do write well!

So there are three shops on ebay owned by Taizo? It's hard to belive there's only one person operating this much business. Maybe It's the whole company who use the same name Taizo?

Sometimes I suspect the same, since the level of courtesy and language varies in the several interactions that I have had with the ebay seller Engeika.

I recently won a bid for sailor sapporo White fine nib from Engeika.

I called Taizo personally and also asked about all these three id's at ebay. He admitted all three belongs to him. His friend Raul is closely working with him in Japan. Though Raul is Indian and he lives at Pune, India.

Our Indian friends can confidently buy pen from ebay seller LifeIsNice03 ( actually own by Engeika(Taizo)).

It says Kaigelu. That's a Chinese make and I own a couple. Great pens for the money, but WHY are they being 'displayed' with Winsor and Newton dip pen ink? :yikes:

My latest ebook.   And not just for Halloween!

My other pen is a Montblanc.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
