This is a very personal set of photos.

For the month of March, I am filling the pulpit in a neighboring town (about 35 miles away). This church was restarted in 2013 by a man who happened to travel through the area and randomly decided to add North Dakota to the list of states visited. He saw this church in a town of about 150 and decided it needed to be reopened. He gave up everything to reopen this small church in an isolated, tiny town. At age 71, he also had dreams of visiting Israel, and knows that his time is limited. He knew that I sometimes fill the pulpit at my rural church, so he asked me to fill in for him.

I don't know the people in his congregation, but the past 2 weeks have been an honor. I still have 3 weeks to go. I look forward to returning to my own church, but it has been a real honor to help sustain this small church and give the pastor a much-needed break.

As you can see, it's actually quite a large church, though quite small in congregation.

The sanctuary is brightly lit. It's the size of my church's sanctuary, but I like this arrangement better. When I preach here, I feel closer to the congregation. There are no barriers, and it is arranged horizontally rather than vertically.

A view from the pulpit (except I don't preach from the pulpit: with such a small congregation, I preach on the floor with the congregation).

Looking south you can see where the parsonage is attached. Unfortunately, it was attached badly and created drainage issues that pour water into both the church and the church's basement.

Looking north, it's a nice view. I like this town, but the town has some serious issues that are visible if you could see out the windows.

I experimented with HDR, but this is a photograph that didn't require it, and this is why my attempts didn't work.

Proud resident of the least visited state in the nation!

Pen2Paper, here's one for you... a Snowy Owl feather, one of two, that I picked up at the Calgary Zoo a number of years ago. My 10 year old granddaughter, who's last name translates from the Dutch as "the Owl", has the other one. And, you're so right, it is incredibly soft.

was just about to leave and found this! Thank You!

when you think about what this lovely object must physically do to allow flight to occur, it makes you pause to ponder its majestic design. That's not even considering the incredibly beautiful owl it's attached to.

Thank you for thinking to share this.

Wow! I'm assuming that's a photo but it looks like a painting! Amazing!

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
