That's really wild, Jadie! Have you noticed any sediment by mixing the two?

If you mix Noodler's BSIAR with a touch of J. Herbin's Rouge Hematite, you get funky red writing with dark GREEN sheen.

 

Kinda like a Christmas tree ink! I'll post pictures when I have time to upload them from my camera...

Love it! What are the approximate proportions?

Hello, xiewadu----yes, there was definitely some sediment, enough to make the feed of my Ahab sparkly. ^^; That's probably why I won't try this in pens that are hard to clean.

 

And Newjelan---er, I'd have to say it was Chinese cooking proportions (a dash of this, a pinch of that). Fact is, my Ahab had R.H. first, and when it was nearing the end (1/6th of the ink barrel, I believe?), I had a craving to go vintage and syringe-filled it with BSIAR instead. Who knew crazy things would happen? There was definitely more BSIAR (at least 3x) than R.H.

 

This is with the old formulation of R.H., though, which was chock full of golden sparkles. (Super Concentrated Shine!) I've heard they've reduced the dough in the newer bottles, so it might be harder to get the same effects.

Sheen junkie, flex nib enthusiast, and all-around lover of fountain pens...

I was playing with Tomoe River paper and Iroshizuku inks earlier and saw this:

In this one, the Kon-peki doesn't show the sheen, but while I was writing random stuff, it did show a bit.

 

I used an iPhone camera for this, so I can't zoom in as much as I'd like to.

Man, in that picture, the Kon-peki looks a lot like Ama-iro but WITH a sheen (actually I think KP is a bit darker IRL).

I always wondered why no one ever mentioned Waterman Bleu Sérenité. Okay, there's usually only a little bit of sheen, but with a wet pen and the right paper, this is what can happen:

I have to admit, I haven't used the pen for a couple of days.
The photo has been taken with my new camcorder and I don't know yet how to override auto exposure. Sorry for the poor quality.

This is sigel Bright White InkJet Paper 100g IP 150. Bought 500 sheets as a special offer for 5€ at a consumer electronics store because it can be used for duplex inkjet printing (fast drying, no show-through). It's 12.57€ at amazon.de. The paper is so smooth that I can't use it in one of my two printers - the ADF can't grab it. Brings out the sheen in every ink.

Yes, that is the paper I got. I have not tried the 120 gsm version - let us know (probably in another thread) if you do.

      Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

      It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

      Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

      @asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
