Well you never come out to Rockford either - then again nobody else does...We are thinking Panera Bread in the loop (Chicago!) for June. I just need to get more details together.

Which Panera bread? I might also suggest to look slightly outside of the loop that would have free parking. There is a Panera bread (if Panera is a sticking point) on Clybourn between Cortland and Webster that has parking, although it can be busy at certain times of the day.

No, Panera is not a sticking point - I don't like trying to have it in a restaurant but, it was a suggestion and I was tole they validate so the parking would be free (or validated - not precisely free, anyway...). So, another Panera in Chicago is fine, so is any other appropriate place to meet.

What are the demographics of your membership (home and work locations and schedules)? How many members would attend if the location were somewhat centralized?

Anyone for Chinatown? There is an ultra-modern Chinese tea house on Archer that might work, for example.

The near northside always did the best. We are going to try somewhere in Chicago (proper). I like Chinatown but, it is a haul for a lot of people. I come out from near Rockford so no one has a right to moan about the drive (I know - I'm just overly pen enthusiastic). We are mostly going to me in Hillside but, we are going to move it around.

I would like to be a member of the Chicago Pen Club. I am a pen collector and enthusiast and I would like to contact other like minded people. I live in Skokie, just north of Chicago. Perhaps the Club could meet at the Westin where the Chicago Pen Show is held. It is centrally located near expressways and most avid pen people know where it is. Let me know whatever site you decide upon. I am Perry.Abrams@hotmail.com.

I'd really love to join/attend a meeting of this! How about some place actually IN Chicago, and easily accessible by public transportation?

I wouldn't call the Westin "easily accessible"--it's a good 2 hours by bus & train from Hyde Park, where I live. It's ok once a year, on a Sunday; otherwise... :crybaby:

Alright - I'm looking at June 12th at 1PM Panera Bread at 2070 North Clybourn - CHICAGO. It is a week earlier than normal as the next week is Fathers Day. I hope all of you that want to meet in CHICAGO can make it and I will be there.

I will be in Boston that week, sorry. So normally is it the third Sunday?

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
