Have you ever tried this model before? If not i'd go and try it before you think about it.

I know this probably sounds like basic advice but i was all set for buying one of Mont Blanc's larger pens, then when i tried them all i settled for the Boheme Noir which is a lovely size for my hand.

I would't say the Mont Blanc pens are the smoothest pens i've ever used either, but then again i am totaly in love with mine.

Well, for that price, i would get it in a heart beat. I got mine at duty free for 400, and i thought that was a good deal  It is one of my smoothest writers, always starts on first try, and its overall a great pen to have. You cant go wrong.

$330 for a new stainless 146 solitaire without any cosmetic or mechanical issues is a bargain! Just make sure it's comfortable for you. Remember it's heavier than the resin version, so consider that if you're going to be using for long periods. I use mine for letters and have no fatigue issues. Btw, I would not post this pen, because the cap does not post securely, and it is well balanced without the cap.

Good luck!

I caved in-- 332, new in the box just seems too good to pass up.

Called the Montblanc store, and they will even include shipping, so I dont have to drive back down.

The weight doesnt bother me at all, in fact, Id like it more if it were heavier!

I have a stainless 146 with factory OM nib...super smooth writer. However,

the stainless might be more difficult to grasp than the resin model. You should

try it in person.

John,

I had gone into the store and tried it earlier in the day-- no gripping issues.

Have you also had difficulty posting the cap? It isnt vital to be at all-- but that was the one thing they were skittish about letting me do in the store.
