It fell about 5 stories before it hit anything, then bounced back and forth off the railing several times staying in the center of the stairwell until it hit the ground over 100 feet down...........................................................

Good thing it was my nearly INDESTRUCTIBLE Homo Sapiens  Not even a scratch on it, and barely any ink even leaked/splattered into the cap. Lets see my Montblanc 149 try and perform that trick!

Thanks to Visconti, and to Bryant for the pen that keeps going, and going, and going, and going. Lava rock rules.

EDITED to add: I don't recommend that anyone repeat this 'experiment'. You do so at your pens own risk. No pens were harmed in the making of this thread.

One bit of advise, go and buy a lottery ticket. It is your lucky day.

Glad your pen survived its attempt at extreme sports!

I knew purchasing one of these was a wise decision on my part – thanks for the confirmation. ;)

A major source of objection to a free economy is precisely that it ... gives people what they want instead of what a particular group thinks they ought to want. Underlying most arguments against the free market is a lack of belief in freedom itself.

Another +1!

And maybe put a small plaque at the bottom of the stairwell: "On this day, a Visconti HS fell 100 feet and survived".

That's funny. Good thing that the resin was strong enough. It's not solid lava, and I'm guessing if it were, it would have been too rigid and might have chipped. On the other hand, you could have cracked something apart right inbetween the lava grains on a resin seam. However, it's very impressive. The Aluminum Kaweco Sport would probably survive that too, if not more.

Didn't parker do something similar with the "big red" duofold in the 20's-30's??

They did--but I think it was only 150 feet..............................

Haha... That is amazing, but honestly... How did you drop your pen down the middle of the staircase? Or did you actually do this on purpose... I hope not, that would have been an expensive experiment! headsmack.gif

And what about the damage to the stairwell?

They had to shut down the entire building while they make repairs.

That is a truly amazing story. Perhaps I will get one of those Homo Sapiens.

Certainly not on purpose. I was almost to the top of the building and getting my phone out of my pocket. I keep my pen in the sometimes and it just fell out onto the steps. I leaned over to pick it up and accidentally kicked it over the edge and into oblivion. Made my heart race pretty bad while running down the steps after it.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
