Is anyone interested in a bulk purchase of ink sample vials? There is a place in Ottawa that will sell us 1000 for around $132.00. I only need 50 vials to put into circulation distributing ink samples, so there would be 950 left over. Here is the link for Canadawide Scientific http://canadawide.ca.../956-330.2.html

I suspect that if we bought them, we could probably just drive up to Walkley Road and pick them up.

BTW when is the next meeting?

Count me in. thumbup.gif

If I can get 10 of us, it will be around $15 including taxes and we will get 100 each.

I miss you guys. When are we going to get together next? I have a contact in Russia to get some Gamma Violet. I will probably be getting 9-10 3.5 oz bottles. Anyone else interested in the vials?

It was my understanding that the next was April 15

And I'm in for the vials, but not the Gamma

April 15th good. I was wondering about looking for another venue with better lighting at some point. Although the Fieldhouse is convenient and available, the lighting is not great and the table arrangement makes circulating and demonstrating difficult.

So far that is spiv, myself and MrsWeetag for vials. That is 333 each.

I was going to solicit opinions, but my preference is for the clear ones. These vials are 6.5CC, the Goulet ones are 7CC. When searching for vials I took local availability as well as functionality into consideration. To get the exact size vials Goulet use I would have had to buy from the US.

I have some of the Goulet sample vials, so I can measure those.

I am mainly concerned about the width of them, as I am planning on buying a vial holder, so I'd like to have a holder that would work with both if we also got in on this group buy.

EDIT: The Goulet ones are 16mm x 59mm with the cap off, so based on the description from the supplier you linked to, they are OK.

These vials have a full-width opening of 12.5 mm and the overall dimensions are 16 x 57 mm. Do you have the dimensions of a Goulet vial?

MrsWeetag, if you are coming on Sunday, could you bring your Cross Aventura please.

Will do. thumbup.gif

Hello Everyone,

I thought reservations were made for the 20th because the 13th is mothers day, although i could very well be mistaken. If someone could clarify when we are meeting I'd really appreciate it

Yes, you appear to be right. I had forgotten it was Mother's Day. I will see you all on the 20th.

Ya know, there is the possibility that if there were to be meeting some day other than Sunday, I might trundle up there.....

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
