Size Of The Mozart?

Plano

I understand it is a smaller pen but I am trying to get an idea how small. Is it about the size of a Lamy Safari with the cap off? I am trying to figure out if I tell the wife I bought a new pen or I say surprise I got you your first MB.:)

I am huge fan of the Mozarts. I have more Mozarts than any other size of MBs. They are small, but they are pretty cool pens. Quick twist on and off (a little over 1/2 turn), but it shuts so it doesn't come loose. But then to help with the size, you can post the cap when writing and you can screw it on to post, so the cap kind of locks on when you are writing. It is meant to post, so you don't have to worry about scratching or wearing out the barrel on the posting end. They are thin, but I find them very comfortable to write with and I am an average size male. If I get a chance I will try and post some pics of all the wonderful varieties of Mozarts...although lately they seem like they are selling for a lot of cash on ebay for some reason. Standard black fountain pens are going for close to $200-$250 and then some of the variations are fetching in the $450 - $600 range.

The pencil and pen are a little different though, they are almost too light because they are pure "precious resin" whereas the fountain pen is black (maybe precious resin) over brass. So the fountain pens seem very strudy.

Thanks,

Brian,

Are those list prices? Seem a bit low.

No, those are observed prices on Ebay. All of my MB purchases (40 pens and pencils) are from the secondary market. I haven't been able to bring myself to buy one from a boutique yet, I wish I could, but right now I am an ebay buyer.

Thanks Brian.

I recently had a chance to handle a Mozart. I'm a 149/146 user, and much to my surprise I found them very comfortable posted.

Thanks for the info everyone. For some reason I just love the way the Mozart looks and I went ahead and pulled the trigger. Hopefully I will have it soon enough and can figure out if this will be my first MB FP or if I just bought my wife a gift ) I guess either way it's a win win for me. (got to love when it works out that way huh)

Attached are photos show the 4 MB MEISTERSTUCK BLACK & GOLD fountain pens comparison. They are, from small to large, Mozart, Chopin (145), Le Grand (146) and 149. In the photo, except 149, the rest 3 are 75 years anniversary edition. Hope it helps. Cheers! Mark

Blade Runner,

I am glad you tried the Mozart. I like the fact that when posted, it is still long enough that it sticks out of the back of your writing hand, but it is not unyieldy (sp?) like longer pens get sometimes (in my opinion).

Hi Here is the link for my Mozart Fountain Pen with Fine Nib.https://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/index.php?/topic/181684-hommage-a-wolfgang-amadeus-mozart-fine-nib/

I love Mozart. Very cute, strong and durable despite the baby size. I dropped my Mozart to the wooden soft floor from about 3 foot height. Loud noise due to the floor resonance. Not even a scratch to the pen. Very strong and resilience pen. Cheers. Htin
