And then you have to find the writing pad to match.

When you're good at it, it's really miserable.

Not being funny but you have to give people more than 15 minutes to reply to a post.

my biggest is the guider jumbo. writes very well, too.

next up is the edison herald grande,

then my 149. biggest nibs are the 149 and guider. they're the same size, but the 149 nib is wider. and prettier.

Yeah, I was going to guess the Guider Jumbo. How long is it, by the by?

The Conway Stewart Great Exhibition pictured in this thread has to be a contender. Danitrio makes some real monsters, too.

Jim Woodring's 7-foot-long dip pen is pretty impressive, but it's not a fountain pen, of course. :)

Montegrappa made some really big working pens in the 60s. There are photos of one made for Vespa here. Size capped is given as 8 7/8". I have also seen the window display version of the pen which is even larger. I was told it wasn't a dummy and I saw that it could actually take cartidges.

They also made a pen similar in size to the Vespa pen, a leather covered pen with "Big Pen for Big Man" written on it; Stefano sold one, with the length given as 22.5 cm. Photos aren't there anymore however.

The Danitrio Genkai is a big pen - here is is in my pen tray (the ones that don't fit) with some MB 149s beside.

There is a wider Danitrio with a larger nib - the Yokozuna - but I don't think it's as long.

Talking about fountain pens is like dancing about architecture.

I've been tempted to make a really huge pen. Like 5 or 6 feet long to display at shows.

My lathe can to it, but I just need to find the time. And I also would need to find some acrylic about 9" or more in diameter.

The real problem would be making a huge clip, nib, and feed.

NOT Nibbus Maximus, as that is a dip pen, not a fountain pen.

Not that the Danitro is bad, but HOW DO YOU WRITE WITH IT? :roflmho:

It's actually very comfortable. It's pretty light since it's made from ebonite and the nibs are super smooth.

I have three and all are in constant use.

Here is a link to a post about the Montegrappa Invento pen. It is a working fountain pen with a large steel nib. It uses a standard international size cartridge that screws into a compartment just behind the nib in the section. I have one I got off eBay for about $34 a couple of years ago, and no, it is not for sale. I also owned a Conway Stewart Great Exhibition in sterling silver overlay by Henry Simpole. Stupid me sold that one.

The plot thickens...the picture of the Vespa pen looks exactly like the Invento pen, so maybe these were both made by Montegrappa and "Invento" was a company that commissioned the pens?

I would love to find one of these somewhere...they just look so cool and apparently are fully functional.

I know your pen is not for sale, but if you ever run across one like it, please send me a note at spyropo@cogeco.ca....thanks in advance.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
