Pelikan Pen Case

I have one Pelikan 3 pen case and would normally avoid larger girth pens like 149s and m1000. It is normally used for my smaller pens such as Sailor 1911 large or my CdA Leman, which are even relatively smaller than a standard M800 or 146 sizes. Though I do not own 400 or 600 size, I suppose they will fit in nicely.

The leather used is soft and nice to hold, but unfortunately, makes it difficult to clip on, as it is thicker than your shirt pocket and soft in the same time, makes it hard for the clip to 'get a grip' to clip on.

Also if you see the side elevation, the flexible leather piece is shorter than the pen it holds, exposing the cap and may subject it to scratches or damage through direct contact.

I've resolved to another brand, Online pen case, as it has almost the similar quality as the pelikan pen case and even it's looks, but minus the negative points. Equally soft but rigid enough to give protection, larger and can comfortably holds M800 and above, with better side protection.

Hmm....

... Now don't get me wrong but I still see it like this....

A. Don't buy anything like that in the first place... or...

B. Leave your pens lying on your desk or around your computer until you use them ever 10 minutes or so... or...

C. Carry them in your shirt or vest or jacket pocket for immediate use, too, or...

D. Keep the darn things in your glass showcase where nothing can happen anyhow.

The single pen pouch works well at least for my M625. But I can see it could be too small for large pens like M1000 or MB 149

I had a Pelikan Single Pen Leather Pouch and the M1000 did fit nicely with no problems. Not too tight and not loose. Unfortunately, I lost it along the way after a meeting at work. sad.gif

I always want to purchase a Pelikan pen pouch to carry my M1000s and M800, but not a single pen. So a lot of reviews have been discouraging to purchase one. I purchased a cigar pouch, made or hard leather, that fits nicely two M1000 or a M1000 plus a MB149.

My Pelikan two pen case will comfortably accommodate 2 x M600s. Best technique is to clip them to the side walls of the case - more secure and keeps the clips from scratching anything.

Indeed that is the best way to secure the pens in the case; along with all the benefits mentioned above: space, tightness, scratch-free because of the clip, the full body of the pen it´s what takes any pressure or stress on travel and not the clip... which in my experience, isn´t the most sturdy element on Pelikans, at least on the M205.

Regarding the post about difficulty attaching the pen clip to the case: I don't attach the clip to the case. Just put the pen into the slot, including the clip. The case cover keeps pens secure, and they are easily removed for use.

I read this thread yesterday and wanted to check it out myself...so...today I put my Pelikan M1000, MB 149, and Waterman Edson in my 3 pen case. They fit in there quite well and I have no concern that they will scratch each other. The only other pen I have that might be as big is my MB Solataire Czar Nikolai I LeGrand and I was able to replace any of the other three pens with ease and all fit quite nicely...

I do not clip my pens to the case.

This is my favorite pen case. I also have the single pen case and it will hold any of those pens individually with no difficulty. I do not own a two pen case so I can not comment from experience.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
