I had to go to the Gustav Line to pick up this WWII 138, long window and steel BB nib. It writes flawless.

Great looking pen Opooh. I really like how the star's points seem to point in a certain direction making it almost look like a pinwheel. As opposed to the "softer" star.

Just received this. A brand new Montblanc Cruise ballpoint in white. I love the look of this pen in white. The platinum trim perfectly accents the white pen. "Montblanc" and Germany" are inscribed on the cap band. It reminds me of the generation line (of which I have 3) but I believe the fit and finish are better. It is a light pen and very comfortable to write with. I ordered this from Italy and it arrive in Canada by Fedex in 3 days. Very happy with the seller Casa della Stilografica in Florence Italy.

Just bought my first Montblanc, a 146 with a medium nib. I didn't like how broad it wrote, so I just turned it in to the Montblanc Boutique at Tysons Galleria in Tysons Corner, VA for a nib exchange. The staff was just great. They had a tray of 146's, one with each nib size, inked up ready to test. I brought along my Rhodia Meeting Book with examples of some of my pens writing (Pelikan M200 in fine, Waterman Executive in fine and Pilot Vanishing Point in fine) so I could compare them with the Montblanc nibs. Selected the Montblanc fine. I was surprised how much finer it is compared to the medium. They have to send it off and I should get it back in 3-4 weeks. Can't wait!

A bottle of Burgundy Red was my latest MB purchase. I have to say that I'm a bit underwhelmed by the color, especially after my first two bottles of MB ink, Toffee Brown and Irish Green.

Still haven't bought an MB pen :( Saving up for a nice 149 in OBB.

My second MB 146. I have one which had a very checkered past, and after a lot of back and forth, I managed to get (freeeeee) a new OB nib from Montblanc. The original seller had no idea it was a oblique, and indeed it was shipped from a totally different country (the seller had never laid eyes on it and somewhere along the line someone had done a good but not great repair on it because it had been dropped and a tine crumpled). *sigh* I like it a great deal but it does have a narrow sweet spot and it is VERY broad writing. But it is a juicy writer and I won't be selling it ever. It's really sort of a specialty pen.

So, my friend, I would have to have another 146 for my tiny hands and daily use. Something with which to write in my normal planner. So after buying and returning about 7 pens (skipping, missing chunks from the feed and subsequent dry out, scratchy nibs, mismatched tines and other things which were not so good for a cheap pen let along an expensive pen) I bought a used medium nib 146 and I love it. Smooth, juicy, nary a skip, blop, scratch, or dry out. We are great friends and I am so happy I have it.

A Heritage 1912 with a B nib. It is quickly becoming one of my favourite pens. The nib is just a dream. :D

Congrats, it really is a nice pen. One of the only non oversize pens I like, the weight and balance are perfect. Mine is a M but writes more B.

Not a FP, but it's my Father's Day gift!

Nice, I like it a lot!

Seems like the closure is easy to use.

My preferred supplier (no affiliation just a very happy customer):

Just got these three, a black danish MB 212, lady-sized button filler, made from 1955-59 , a burgundy danish MB 222 mechanical pencil, from 1954-58 and finally a blue MB generation ball point pen. The 212 needed a new sack to write again, but the two others were functioning perfectly.

Great acquisitions as usual. I love the 212. I am trying to collect more of the Danish MBs. The 222 looks great as well. I definitely would not mind picking up one of those. I hope you enjoy your new instruments for a long time.

Thank you Orfew, the 212 is a nice little pen, it´s the same size as a celluloid 142.

The pencil came with it but i don´t write much with pencils, still it´s a nice thing to have.

Regards Per

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth

There is still chemistry for processing regular chrome (positive) films like Kodak Ektachrome and Fuji Velvia, but Kodachrome was a completely different and multistep beast.
    • Ceilidh
Ah, but how to get it processed - that is the question. I believe that the last machine able to run K-14 (Kodachrome processing) ceased to operate some 15 or so years ago. Perhaps the film will be worth something as a curiosity in my estate sale when I die. 😺

Take a lot of photos!   If the film has deteriorated or 'gone off' in any way, you can use that as a 'feature' to take 'arty' pictures - whether of landmarks, or people, or whatever.
