What Parkers Are You Working With Today?

This one came in a couple days ago. It's one of the two Brit Burgundys from the UK I'm waiting on. It's a little more red than it shows in this outdoor (cloudy) today Droid pic. It looks like it has a UK Fine which would make it about a U.S. M- which should be about perfect for me. I even picked up my official KD135 section pliers yesterday from NAPA so I guess this will be my first full 51 disassemble. I already fixed a little bend in the clip and cleaned the outside up a bit.

Today's post is brought to you by a Parker International Duofold Blue Mosaic with M nib ;)

Also, a vector is in rotation somewhere with an F nib

All bleeding stops...eventually

Haven't really done much with it yet other than a quick once over wipe down but at least it has arrived from the UK in good shape I think.

British Burgundy Aero with a converging line Rolled Silver cap with Gold trim. No dents but 1 line and just very light surface wear to the cap. Especially considering the deal I got on it, I might be sending the cap to Daniel to get prettied up.

PS Sorry for the down and dirty phone pic.

Bruce in Ocala, FL-ok, now we're back to not really looking for anything. No. Really.

Parker 51 Signet, fine point Nib Pelikan 4001 Violet Ink.

This is off topic but Mr. Pen Man I was thinking of buying a bottle of pelikan 4001 violet but I was afraid of feathering. I will be using it on the cheap paper I use for school and a moleskine, so in your personal experience what would you recommend.

I found the ink writes with no problem on all kinds of papers, but different fountain pen nibs do effect the perfomance.

My parker signet writes great on all kind of surface, but some other types, like my waterman hemisphere golden fine point nib is very picky on what type of paper i use it on.

Only fp I have used today is a cardinal red 1928 Duofold Jr. filled with Waterman Blue Black. This is the one that started my appreciation of the Duofold Jr. pens, and it has rarely been uninked since I got it nearly eight years ago.

Today I am using.......

A broad nibbed black/GF aero P51

A 1930 Parker Raven Black and Gold

In the post is a mystery pen, the pictures were a bit indistinct but it is a BHR Duofold shaped pen. Could be a Jack knife or DQ, who knows?

Hopefully I'll be able to try it out on Monday. :)

This one.

I hooked up with about 3 bottles worth of Parker Penman Sapphire carts over on The Bay. (Couldn't be left out of the FPN PPS orgy doncha know... )

I actually had 9 carts of PPS left over already and went ahead and transferred them to a small Nalgene bottle (1/2 oz).

Flushed both this one and one of my Plums and have them drying getting ready for a load of Sapphire. Also mumbling over the pen god beads that this one at least doesn't get cloggy with the PPS like some 51's do. I WOULD definitely be disappointed. :( (In fact, I'm not going to fill the Plum right away with it until I try this out for a couple days.)

Silly thing is, the PPS may not even look that different from the Faux Penman Sapphire or my usual American Blue or DCSSB.

What the heck, might as well try some in it anyway.

Bruce in Ocala, FL-with nice Sapphire fingers even! :clap1:

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
