for those familiar with Montblanc wallets, would you choose the Meisterstuck collection or the westside collection? And is 6cc enough or should I go with 8cc?

Thanks.

Both are high quality. Choice and capacity really depends on your preference and needs.

I chose the Meisterstuck Selection and love it.

Mine has 6 CC capacity and a detachable part that can hold an ID and 2 more CC. I don't like to carry alot of stuff, so a 6 CC is really sufficient.

Ooo.... very, very nice.

I have a Louis Vuitton Taiga leather wallet with 3 c/c slots (and an extra at the back). The quality of the leather, durability and scratch resistance of this brown, classic wallet is amazing. It's lasted many years and hopefully will last many years more. Much better than those flimsy $50 wallets that have linings which fall apart in under a year.

Don't know how LV compares to MB but beautiful photos of your wallet Blade Runner.

In my experience, the less cards you carry - the better it is!

In Rotation: Parker DuoFold Centennial / Duofold / GvFC

In storage: Too many to name.

I was considering Louis Vuitton wallets as well. They are truly very nice wallets, however I feel that they the are victim of their own popularity. At one point, having a Louis Vuitton product was something to be proud of, although now, I think it speaks more as a "I have no sense of originality, am a lemming to society and I desperately want other people to know I have money" product, especially the LV monogrammed products.

That being said... I do have to admit, the Taiga leather wallet is beautiful.

I was thinking about these only the other day. Do they do one with a coin section in. I always like wallets with a snap pouch for a few coins, hate them rattling about in my trouser pockets!

All the best.

My wife would completely disagree with you ! :ltcapd:

As for the wallet, I'm really considering a MB Meisterstück Selection after hearing you guys commending them so much, not to mention all those impressive photos. I don't like carrying a lot of stuff in a wallet either (Seinfeld's George Constanza comes to my mind now :D ), and at the moment I'm using (and loving!) a Franklin Christoph Wallet One, which is a very compact wallet and perfect to carry only a couple of CC's, my ID and my Sony Xperia Mini phone, but sometimes I wish I had extra space for other CC's and banknotes.

The Selection wallet gives me pleasure every time I use even as I empty its contents. It's an elegant part of

one's wardrobe and gets a lot of use every day. Given its high quality I think it will only better as it ages.

Whatever line you consider, I would recommend the 8CC. You never know when you will need extra storage for things like identification, concealed weapons permit, debit cards, credit cards, etc.

I recently purchased an 8CC Nightflight Wallet, Nightflight Checkbook Cover, and Nightflight Key Case. I seriously considered the Meisterstuck Line, but I put my leather goods to extreme use and I need something that will stand the test of time.

For many years, I had used a Meisterstuck Leather Business Card holder as a second, smaller wallet. Within a couple of years, the leather was very scratched up and had noticeable crease lines in the folds. I like the Nightflight Line because of its durability and function.

If you have the opportunity, visit your local Mont Blanc Boutique so you can see and touch the various leather products before making a final decision.

Good luck!

Thanks.

I recently purchased a Westside wallet with 6CC slots - the leather has sort of a brushed/matte effect to it and is really beautiful - the wallet also has a clip in the middle of the wallet to hold things like reminder notes, or other things that are only temporarily in your wallet - it also has 2 compartments at the back for notes and whatever else you feel like putting in there.

The wallet is really lovely and I would recommend to anyone.

The reason I chose the Westside over the Meisterstuck is that i prefer the matte/brushed look of the leather over the glossy look that you find in this line, i think the matte is less resistant to scratches etc.

Anyways go into your MB boutique and check them out, it took me a while to decide too!

Patience is a virtue when waiting for the right pen... although I do just always seem to miss them

Not sure about the standard Meisterstuck wallet, but I understand that the Meisterstuck Selection wallet has a scratch resistant coating.

are the Montblanc selection wallets made from exotic leather or just calf leather with exotic prints?

The latter. Given the quality and fit and finish I would love it in either case.

Is this selection black? I thought it only came in the reddish color. Where did you get it?

Im using Westside with 8 cc's - best small wallet I ever had. Second place would be the Nomande LW wallet. In my experience Meisterstuck scratch way too fast (at least in my hands).
