What Color Are Your Fingers Today?

GouletPens

J. Herbin Vert Empire. Had to pull the nib on my dip pen to clean it; now I've got to clean my fingers, as well. Still, it's a bit of a badge of honor, for a writer.

My right hand is currently covered in Noodler's Air Corps Blue-Black....due to a brief moment of clumsiness!!! I managed to clean my mother-in-law's table before she noticed the mess!

After creating a mess in the kitchen, my hands (not fingers...hands) are Skrip Red and Waterman Purple. And a combination of the two.

Noodler's Burgundy. I washed my hands but still had a stain. Then I ate some string cheese. I noticed a pink mark on it, and for a split second I thought that there was something wrong with the cheese. :ltcapd:

Diamine Blue Black - I was attempting to insert a cart into a poor-quality pen when the sections slipped spraying ink all over me, my desk, my clothes, my computer, my work... Lovely colour, though I think I'd prefer it on paper ;)

I was filling my Lamy Nexx M with Noodler's Polar Blue this morning...I sort of "bumped" the bottle then caught it before it fell (I think I was still sleepy, I had'nt finished my first cup of ceffee yet!)...as a result, some of the ink flew out and landed on my hand. Nice way to start the day.:headsmack:

Dark, DARK brown. All of my hands on all surfaces are brown. Why? I decided to make black walnut ink, but forgot that the fruits stain like crazy. By the time I finished hulling my first nut, where ever the juice ran off to, was beginning to oxidize.

After being so careful and not spilling any ink or staining my hands, my converter decided to have a dumb momnet (caused by the operator) and spilled bad blue heron down my fingers. Wonderful. :P

Noodler's Midnight Blue. Just a smudge. I am pretty careful. I don't know why I always end up with ink on me. But it's a badge of pride for my pen lifestyle, I guess! :roflmho:

Until I washed them this morning, my fingers were a combo of the following inks:

J.Herbin Rouge Hematite 1670

Noodler's Badger & Blade 5 O'Clock Shadow

PR DC Super Violet

Now they are clean, until I do something else of course.

Iroshi Asa-gao, which is tough to get out from under a thumbnail. I just couldn't let my pilot 74 with a scratchy F nib wait, and it was a little messy on the thumb from using the nail to spread the tines a bit so I could sneak a very fine mylar disc in there and smooth out the inner edges. It worked, and the ink is pretty, even on a thumb.

After being respectably clean and mainstream for several days, I had a bit of a mishap with my TWSBI and now the Diamine Midnight it contained has caused a stain on my thumb that is in the shape of a perfect capital P. The blob on my index finger looks like...well, just a blob on my index finger.

I know it's not today, but it was yesterday. I was cleaning my Finace's Cross Adventura, and afterwards filling the converter directly from my bottle of HoD. Well, my fingers decided to ignore my brain, and I dropped the entire converter into the bottle. I had to dump the bottle out into another container to get the converter. Both hands stained completely black. But I got the conveter out and it was filled with more ink that I could've hoped! :P

I had inadvertently left a Preppy, filled as an eyedropper with Baystate Blue, nib-down in a cup on my desk. I wasn't thinking clearly when I uncapped it. You can guess the rest.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
