What Color Are Your Fingers Today?

GouletPens

Recommended Posts

Diamine Blue Lightning shimmering ink, which I bought along with a pen for a friend's birthday. Opened the box to find it basically exploded on everything (thankfully the pen was in a separate package!). And so my fingers are not only blue, they are also very glittery.

I have a bit of Rohrer and Klingner Scabiosa on a couple fingers, but that is much better than almost dumping the bottle on myself, which was almost the scenario this morning.

Diamine Vivaldi, Sailor Grenade remnants around the base of one finger nail from an accidental leak a couple of weeks back, and some dried blood beneath the skin from a pinched-blister thing (ouch)! B-blood is a kind of ink too, right?

A small blob of Musk Green on my thumb where it touched the rim of the bottle when filling the M300.

Still have some Noodler's Heart of Darkness on my fingers from refiling a pen from the sample vial I made up for when I went out of town last week -- I wanted something pretty permanent just in case for times when R&K Salix wasn't up to the task, and the pen I'd had it in, a Noodler's FPC, seemed to be out of ink when I got back home this afternoon.

Blue-black, from an almost-accident whilst filling my TWISBI vac-Mini with Noodler's Bad Belted Kingfisher. I hope this finds everyone doing well.

Some sort of blue-black looking smudge on the side of my right middle finger, diagonally below my fingernail. Not sure if it's J Herbin Bleu des Profundeurs (from filling a Sheaffer Snorkel a couple of nights ago) or Noodler's 54th Massachusetts (currently in the Noodler's ebonite Konrad, because I had to pay some bills yesterday morning, and that's one of the inks I think is "safe" for checks and envelopes).

I ended up with Sheaffer Black all over my hands.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Diamine Oxblood. Actually, this was all over my hands last night too after writing a few letters and adjusting the converter a few times. I fell asleep on my couch and had a dream that I was living through a James Bond as villian episode set in an opulent mall/ apartment complex somewhere. Bond poisoned all of these people at what looked like a keychain party and they all started attacking eachother on the escalators and elevators. David Bowie, circa 1975 was even in this dream, so it was very odd.

I should not fall asleep on the couch and certainly not with my head propped up.

Today it was a bit of Edelstein Olivine. Unfortunately, I also got a bit on the blanket binding, so I'm going to spending some time today or tomorrow amongst the piles of laundry with the bottle of Amodex and the little brush that comes with, and a whole bunch of paper towels.... :(

I must say, that stuff REALLY works. But it does take a LOT of elbow grease.

I'm coated with Rohrer and Klingner Verdura. I did a little nib straightening while filming a video on a vintage Markant 165. Darn that's a wet pen!

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
