"has anyone seen a fake 149 or 146, that is a piston filler and not a converter?"

No, I have not.

Neither have I... but they are coming down the pipeline, no doubt.

If they aren't already on the market place, it's just a matter of time.

:)

Here's a link showing a fake solitaire thread I started several weeks back...

Fake Solitaire

I was going to add a photo of a similar patterned silver ballpoint I reported to eBay 10 minutes ago but they removed the item before I copy the picture across. I'm not used to such speedy response times from eBay.

I still haven't had any answers to my question, "has anyone seen a fake 149 or 146, that is a piston filler and not a converter?"

Not yet, but the technology needed to build a crappy piston filler is about the same as to build a crappy converter. When they hit teh market, and they will, Montblanc and Pelikan will be the most likely targets.

I've sent a PM to Michael R. about the following ebay auction to confirm whether or not it's his listing.

http://cgi.ebay.com/Mont-Blanc-Boheme-Platinum-Big-Line-Fountain-Pen-/110560294925?cmd=ViewItem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item19bde8380d

It's a pic from his thread from 2008 https://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/index.php?/topic/75854-montblanc-boheme-big-size/page__view__findpost__p__734317.

Knowing how members take great care in listing items and have a lot of pics of their own pens...this one seems odd because of a single pic from two years ago. If someone else knows Michael R...is he from NC or from the the other side of the Atlantic?

Kind regards,

Eric

Is this a fake?: http://www.fountainp...nc-greta-garbo/

it's on the forum. i'm just curious because another user commented on it.

The question on the emblem is just an artifact of the image.

The image shows on of the commercial boxes with the clear panel. The emblem is simply seen from the back or inside.

Are you sure that nobody will fall for that? There are enough cheapskates around which want to be bamboozled! :yikes:

They would have to pay me to take that piece of garbage off their hands. Please, note that this vendor also sells "authentic" Rolex watches and that he or she has positive ratings. Very unfortunate, indeed.

Did you read the actual comments on his ratings? A couple call him a thief. I cannot see how he has 100% with some of the comments.

it's hard to give negative feedback on ebay. there have been a few times i just wanted to write "&)(#*)(*$(*$&(#*&$(#*&$(#*&" and give 0-stars, but it seems like ebay protects the seller too much in this regard.

not impossible at all, but it's somewhat onerous.

The description said 149 three times, and that pen is not a 149 definitely.

However, looks like I have been mistaken and they are Mozarts.

Apologies.
