The Fake Spotted Here Thread...

I think the configuration of 18K bitone without the visible STOD mark (it will be there in the heel) PLUS the Split HR feed should have been the very last pens sent out by the factory with the venerable split feeders. It is a simple task for a nib tech like Mike to straighten that nib with one tine crooked.

"Brand New Montblanc Meisterstuck Rollerball Pen" with a photo of a fountain pen does not bode well for the authenticity of this item.

Very similar listings, with very similar phrasing/spelling mistakes and photographs (including a fake-looking pouch) appear regularly from supposedly different vendors in the UK and Ireland. Caveat emptor! (buyer beware).

You don't know what you need until you realise you haven't got it.

They also have in common a very low eBay "buy it now" price plus a fake-looking converter.

Both listings are gone now, so I'd assume they were fakes (not sold, gone!)

Agreed that it looks fake - the box, the converter and the barrel etc.

But... if you had shown me the cap on its own, I'd say it looks like a genuine F Scott Fitzgerald WE cap. However, the fact that it matches what likes like a F Scott piston at the top of the pen (which clearly can't be genuine, assuming it is fixed in place and doesn't twist) suggests that the whole thing is suspect, or at least a Frankenstein in part.

This is a 100% fake Starwalker type not a fake Boheme type

The converter in the Boheme does look odd but if that is a fake then the nib is scary close to looking authentic.
