Fake too. The clearer indication of being a counterfeit is the black (solid) star in the MB logo stamped inside the box.

Fake Jules Verne on eBay?

The listing says that it's black and the pictures seem to match that description; but as far as I know the "real" version is a breathtakingly beautiful blue. Also as far as I know, the Jules Verne signature is engraved and not filled with goldish paint. 2 ratings for this seller, and 8 bids so far on the pen.

I've never posted a link here, so here's the item number in case my attempt to link fails: 110573353613

Fake Jules Verne?

Yes, it's a fake. And the other pen (Chopin) is a fake as well.

What surprises me with this one is that luseverino2009 doesn't say Montblanc in any of his descriptions... but still has the white star at the top of each pen, and no one seems to be doing anything about it, how come? At the least there at infringements on the trademarks, right? Of course he downplays the star by now showing it straight on... or his fake diamond on the top... but its undeniably there.

Just curious,

Stephen

Every single pen he is selling is a counterfeit. Not one is real. He even has a Bergman rollerball and other WEs and LEs.

I filed a report with Ebay.

Good catch.

Looks fake, especially the nib, but what do I know.

Over to the experts.

Fake MB ?

Crazy pen! Most fakes try to mimic an original. This guy seems to have gone out on a limb and started his own series! Desperate!

Will gladly retract and apologise, if I am wrong.

It's more fake than a 3 dollars bill. The biggest clue is the "nib marked 'iridium point germany'" :roflmho:

And quite odd how the seller seems proud of that nib, not only providing a nice close-up, but also highlighting it in the description.

Fake MB ?

The body looks like a very nice Hero from China that I saw once. There are 2 immediate clues to its falseness. One is the clip, which is folded metal. It has been photographed in such a way as to try to hide it, but it is sort of obvious. The dead giveaway is the nib. This would be a very nice $10 pen if it was sold for what it actually is.

I have contacted the seller regarding this pen. They have a good bay feedback rating - maybe they don't realise it is a fake Mont Blanc..

Hi,

Could any of you take a look at this pen, and let me know if it is a fake or genuine Mont Blanc.

Thank you.

Mont Blanc

I think it is real. Not particularly nice condition. The nib appears to be a left foot oblique, so suitable for a left handed writer.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
