nice! i want to get my mom to help me out with something like that, but i can't fathom a time when i'll ever want to bring more than one or two pens anywhere with me. and for that my pocket and shirt collar both do the job. i'm sure i'll still make one eventually.

but i really like the black/pinstripes and the flowery necktie pouches. very nice.

That second one looks similar to a crochet hook/sewing needle roll. You can find plenty of patterns for those online for free and modify them, if you can sew.

Cool! I really like the third one - is it made from an old tie? Clever and attractive.

I have a whole pile of old ties here (my Dad's I got when he died because I do fabric art stuff) and I was planning to make pen wraps from them too! I like that a lot of them are already lined nicely and there are some lovely patterns. I was thinking of making a wrap that could fit 2 or maybe 3 pens (depending on tie width) from the fat end of the tie but haven't got round to it yet. Must get my act together and have a go.

ok, the second (the black one, with 6 pen cell) is very simple but it's necessary the sewing machine to have a good result.

on the basis of the dimensions of your pens and the number of the pens that you want to put inside you have the dimensions of the main rectangle.

now you have to select two kind of tissue (in my case is inside black/pinstripes outside).

after you have to make the pen-cells: i use a small highlighter as a cylindrical reference to have the same size for all pen-cells.

now cut at exact dimensions and sew the pieces... but this work is not for me :)

i'm sure that if you show the pictures to a seamstress she understand in one second how to made it.

working time: 10-15 minutes

tissue price: 0 €, there are a cuttings waste

-i hope my english is clear enough-

Nice Job! I love the idea of using an old tie for a pen case. Thanks.

Now, may I borrow your mother?!

There will be no crisis this week. My calendar is already full.

Hmmm, if about 200 of us pay for the mother to come from Italy, it'd be affordable. I think dad has a few "dispensable*cough* ties lying around. I wonder if he'll even notice.... *drools* A silk pen case. YUM. How chic!

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
