Just in case, if anyone is interested, I took my Wacom Inkling from the closet after 4 years and tried cheap Chinese refill D1 (analog to expensive Swiss made).

Agreed.  I detest the barrenness of winter, but he captures it wonderfully.

TL;DR: Secret Santa gave me a bunch of nice stuff for drawing in ink: paper, inks, dip pen. I did a quick tour, see below. Many thanks, Secret Santa!

Very interesting tool, @Andrew_L, thanks for the review.

Excellent drawings, time and again showing it's the artist who makes the difference.

Why, it goes around and comes around! Unfortunately, for some.

Hello my friend. Haven't 'spoken' with you in a while, but I think of you nearly every day, from the News. Hoping you are having a safe, warm, and well lighted Holiday Season!

I got 99 problems but a BIC ain't one!

Indeed!

I come here everyday too look for your post, as the only way to know you are still well, and, childishly, keep up hope.

I'd bet I am not the only one.

If you are to be ephemeral, leave a good scent.

I am one of those who care, too. @Andrew_L, kind wishes. (The situation in Ukraine is beyond words. There will be again a time for words, later.)

Just thought I'd stick together a small selection of my little pen and waterbrush images from the past year ... many were posted on the 'what pen are you using...' thread. Best to all for 2023...

Lovely work as always!  I'm so jealous of your talent.

Hello Andrew, I am doing well, very busy with life, so not much new, glad to see you are well and keeping up the great work, will work on something if time permits.

Best wishes

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth

There is still chemistry for processing regular chrome (positive) films like Kodak Ektachrome and Fuji Velvia, but Kodachrome was a completely different and multistep beast.
    • Ceilidh
Ah, but how to get it processed - that is the question. I believe that the last machine able to run K-14 (Kodachrome processing) ceased to operate some 15 or so years ago. Perhaps the film will be worth something as a curiosity in my estate sale when I die. 😺

Take a lot of photos!   If the film has deteriorated or 'gone off' in any way, you can use that as a 'feature' to take 'arty' pictures - whether of landmarks, or people, or whatever.
