Do Waterman Cartridges fit my Mont Blanc Chopin?

Hey guys, long time reader first time poster! I have a fairly simple question, do these waterman ink cartridges fit my Mont Blanc Chopin FP? The reason why im asking is because the stores around here only have the long waterman refills as opposed to the short MB and cross style cartridges and i dont have the time to go to Joon in the city for some refills (did that last week and forgot about the MB). These are the waterman refills http://www.buyonlinenow.com/viewitemsAct.asp?classlabel=WHBA&manufactlabel=1700340&SKU=WAT52021W&gb=1&utm_source=googlebase&utm_medium=comparsionshopping They might last longer as well, and im sure they fit the barrel, but im not positive if they fit the converter? Thank you!!

go to feed store or farmers co-op. buy syringe and smallest needle that fits it. buy ink of your choice. any ole fountain pen ink will do. use syringe to get ink from bottle, stick needle in hole of used and empty cartridge, fill cartridge. put cartridge back into pen. write and enjoy.

that's what i do.

syringe was a total of 60 some cents. less than a dollar. a DOLLAR.

and then ink. bottles are WAY cheaper.

They should. If they don't, hey, it's not a big waste. You can easily order short international cartridges from the internet for a small price.

The sword is mightier than the pen. However, swords are now obsolete whereas pens are not.

Can you fit two short International cartridges in the Chopin? If so, the Waterman should fit.

You can put two international cartridges into a Montblanc 145 barrel but not one of the long Waterman cartridges.

Why? Well, the small cartridges are put end by end into the barrel and so the narrow front of the back cartridge is facing the inner end of the barrel. The end of a long Waterman (or Pelikan) cartridge is not narrow enough and will touch the inner end of the barrel. And if you onscrew the barrel you'll turn and press the cartridge which might cause some mess with the ink ... ;)

I just put a Waterman long cartridge into my 145. I didn't feel the cartridge touching the end of the barrel, but I'd be cautious about ignoring Axel.

well i decided i might as well try and it fit perfectly! thanks for the suggestions! Ill make sure it doesnt touch the end of the barrel or turn with it, but for now its writing great with it. As for the syringe, i also bought something called Higgins Black Magic, and its cap is similar to an eye dropper (with a very fine tip) and it fits perfectly in empty cartridges and it writes surprisingly well. I'm not sure if its popular or not, but its really convenient. It was $3 for 1oz and its waterproof. It was in Staples so i said i might as well. :D

Do NOT use this ink, It will likely kill your Chopin. Use only those inks which are marked as "Fountain pen ink"

The Higgins waterproof India ink contains suspended particles, when it solidifies, it will totally block the feeder. Hence these inks are recommended only for dip pens/technical pens etc. The advantage of these inks is the rub resistance, opacity and waterfastness.

I strongly advice flushing that pen and flushing it well. Then I'd fill that pen with something like Quink and use it regularly through a couple fills.

I think the music 'Unfinished Polonaise' is being referred to here, By Frédéric Chopin. Chopin was a Great master of romantic music, and composed at least 23 polonaises.

That it was unfinished because Higgins ink killed the Chopin.
