I like the Vector's I found in India, but the Safari is better if you can get a medium.

I saw them in a mall in Mumbai a couple of months ago. They were on sale with several other pens in a small counter-top display, not part of a big store or anything.

They cost Rs 875, in case you were wondering.

If you can not afford a shirt pocket...in that all the pens you have mentioned were designed for shirt pockets, then get a Kaweco Sport, which has been designed to be pants pocket carried since the 1930's.

Why break a pen or jab your self, by using a pen not designed for the job, of being carried in a pants pocket.

Sorry about being snide, but I grew up when everyone had shirt pockets and carried pens where they belonged. Besides which Kaweco needs the business if still in business.

With two shirt pockets one don't need a fanny pack either, except for a concealed carry.

Flaps keep everything inside. Pen holes can be sewed in the flaps if one wants.

Style follows function...

I'm looking for a pair of buckle shoes too....A nice pair of Monks...the name for modern side buckle shoes...so I'm a tad old fashioned. :headsmack:

Hi...why dont you check out the william penn website? They sells pens in India...I had bought my Safari from them online...they are located in Bangalore...the pen costs 925 INR now...it used to be much less then...william penn also used to sell beginner's pelikan FPs some time back...good ones...or if you have somebody in Mumbai, they you can get it much much cheaper in the fort area shops...almost 40% less than MRP...and it is a lovely pen for daily use...for rough and tough use, as they say...best of luck...

I think the Safari/Vista would be great for this purpose. For easy pocket carry, you need to place great emphasis on the clip, and the oversized clip on the Safari/Vista effortlessly slides into a pocket while remaining secure. Most other pens will not grab on so easily. The other thing is the cap pulls off quickly, as opposed to twisting off which takes longer. Only downside is the pen is ridiculously large and rear-heavy with the cap posted, so you may have to hold the cap in your other hand while writing. I use a Vista for my daily carry pen and find it works great for these reasons.

Upward, not Northward!

Check out the Linc Pen store at South City Mall. They carry Lamy pens. I can't give you the current prices. A couple of years back, the price of a Lamy Safari (with a converter) was less than Rs. 1000. I personally prefer medium points but you may find them a tad too wide. So check out both fine and medium points.

Best,

Somnath.

Sorry for multiple posts! Don't know how this happened.

I purchsed my Lamy 2K from South City Mall.

However, 'Cross word' book store at Elgin Rd. also carries Lamy pens.

Happy hunting!!

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
