Regular MB 146 Le Grand vs Traveller

Hi.

I have the chance of choosing between these two models, at the same price. The Traveller's list price is higher, but I can get either the regular piston 146, or this.

Which one would you choose?. I think that the regular piston 146 is more classic, but why is the traveller more expensive?.

If the performance of the Traveller is better, I think it will be a better option.

Cartidges are pricier though, and there are less variety.

I'd like to know the pros and cons of the two models.

Thanks.

It depends what you want them for. I would recommend the 146, simply because I prefer piston to cartridges. However...if you are on the go and dont want to carry a bottle of ink with you then the 147 is a better option. the 147 can hold 2 cartridges so you can quickly refill whilst on the go. Overall i dont think there is much difference between the two and its mainly down to which one you would find more conveniant. My choice is the 146

I agree with James - depends on what you want and how you will use it. I have one of each - I prefer my 146 95% of the time; I use my 147 on those occasions where refilling is not an option. So, I'd go with the 146 now.

I decided to go with the 146. I think that the cartridge thing detracts a bit from the whole MB experience. I don't plan to use the pen in travels. I don't usually travel in my job, and when going on vacation I usually carry the cheapest rollerball I can find at home :D

Thanks for the very fast and helpful answers.

If it's any help I think given your circumstances you have made the right decision. I would only go for the 147 if I travelled a lot and needed to use cartriges mostly for convenience.
