149 too big for women's hands?

Am bidding on a 149; my previous MBs are classique (I think) black bp and burgundy fp, which still writes like a dream after 25 years. But I could stand a big larger pen. Is the 149 going too far to the deep end of the pool from a streamlined classique? thx!

It doesn't get much larger than a 149

If you find it too large you could always offer it up for sales on the sales board :)

I'm not sure it is a matter of masculine or feminine hands, but more a matter of preference for size. I like the Pelikan 600 size and am hoping to get a 146 someday. I think the 149 would be too big for me.

Unless you're hands are tiny, it's amazing how the hand can adapt to different size pens, and many folks here with smallish hands use the 149 comfortably. To be sure I'd hold one in a store first.

Edited to mention I have small hands for a woman, too.

Woman, medium hands, love it (better than 146).

I say go for it... I own the 144 and the 149... I enjoy both.

It took me a bit of time to get used to the section width, but now I love mine.

I wear a men's small glove even though I'm a woman (wide hands, but short fingers).

Hey, girlfriends.... I won the 149 in the auction and if the photos are accurate, it's in great shape. I wouldn't have bid on it, at least not seriously, had so many of you not written back to say you love your pens. I love this network ...and now I really belong to the forum! Have a great week, and happy writing....

The short answer is 'no'. I wear size 6 surgical gloves (aka small gloves) and I own five 149s. They are extremely comfortable to write with.

However, having said that, I gradually worked up to it. I started off using a 144, then a couple of 146s, and when I first used a 149, I thought that it was too big (but not anymore).

Hope this helps.
