Where To Buy Aerogramme?

I have been looking for aerogrammes recently (air letters - the letters you write on, then fold up and it is also your envelope). I have been searching the internet, but have been having trouble finding a source for these. Does anyone know where I can get some aerogrammes?

In the US (you're in Michigan, right?) all mail that leaves CONUS is air mail, and there's no real advantage if you stay under 1 ounce of weight. USPS doesn't even list an option for Aerogrammes or the equivalent. You can try doing your own letter folding; just be sure to keep them within USPS size guidelines, which elminate most of the letterfolds I've found on-line.

Ah, this is right up my alley.

Aerogrammes can be called postalettes, fold and mails, and probably other things I'm not thinking of. The US postal service no longer offers international aerogrammes with pre-printed postage on special light-weigh airmail paper (though one can find them on eBay, often below face value of the postage) because there is only one international letter rate now.

However, I am a big fan of a few of these types of things.

I am extremely fond of International Girl Aerogrammes. They are very fountain-pen friendly, and I've posted a fairly detailed review of them on my blog. They are not cheap, and they come from Singapore, but I think they're just fantastic.

Of varying degrees of fountain-pen friendliness but a plethora of fun designs are Chronicle Books fold and mails. The paper stock varies by set - some are better than others for FP ink, but I love them all, and use them extensively. I've probably mentioned those on my blog more times than just about anything else.

Of a similar style but different company than the Chronicle books items is Eliott Erwitt fold and send stationery. This has a slightly thicker, higher quality paper than the Chronicle books items, and is uniformly FP-friendly.

Hmmm... I'm surely forgetting something, but those are my favorites that I use all the time.

Oh - and if you're up for searching on eBay, I've gotten quite an interesting variety of different postalettes from that lovely source, as well.

Edit: Do I owe you a letter?? :-)
