Any One Here Use A "pocket Briefcase"?

I use a PB daily. I have several but find the Hartman the best current product. this hartman has a 2/3 pcoket in the back as wll as three credit card size pockets. I also have producs from levenger, Ghurka, charing cross and some off brands. I do not use the Levenger product because the writing surface allows the 3x5 cards to fall out- its to big. I should note that I carry the PB in my wallet pocket. I prefer the older hartman with the two full pockets in the back, but it is no longer avialable. I use excompata grid cards. They're just aoubt the size of a 3x5 card and take ink very well.

Don't forget renaissance-art, http://www.renaissance-art.com/catg116/categoryMaster.aspx They have a couple varrients, in both 3x5 and 4x6. They even have some that have a spot made for moleskine/notebook too...

I've been wanting one of each of these two in 3x5, but don't have the $$ to spend lately...(if only I hadn't bought pens instead ;) ) http://www.renaissance-art.com/catg121/category.aspx

For the ah frugal folks, I found a similar item at Office Max. It is made by Esselte (Oxford), but is only about $5. I really like the index cards lined in the "portrait" direction. They really have a nice surface for writing on. It is not leather, like the Levenger version and it has a cheesy elastic loop for a pen, that I cut off, but it looks nice and has held up well. It has an inner pocket for cards and 2 outer pockets...one that is a writing surface and the other is a place to store receipts. The size means it fits well in a shirt pocket for work or in my back pants pocket on the weekend. It goes everywhere with me.

I think I might have bought the same one. Made by Oxford, Leather (like?) and costs about $5, although mine was from Office Depot, not Max.

I very much like the idea and experience of carrying note cards rather than a small book, so upgrading to one of the slimmer Levenger options seems likely at some point. I keep mine in my rear left pocket, if anyone is keeping score on carrying locations.

I just ordered the 4x6 billfold/PB from the Levenger outlet store for $4.95 plus shipping. It was monogrammed for someone and returned but I don't care about that part.

I wish my pockets were that big o.O

I just got a little ring and took a whole punch to half a pack of 4x6 cards. Easy peasy lemon squeezy :) I just throw it in my backpack and write down anything I need to by whipping it out.

I have the Staple 'M' brand version (actually, I have several) and they are with me constantly.

I not only use a Levenger Pocket Briefcase (with an outside cover that holds more cards), but I have a slim 9 by 12 billboard (I don't know what Levenger calls them) that will hold about 8 to 15 cards up at an angle).

I typically will run 3 to 7 projects at a time, and this really does help me coordinate all of the activities (and yes I do use Outlook, MS Project, and number of other electronic tools, but this is the quickest wasy to jot down little issues).

It has magnetic legs on the back that fold flat, and at the end of the day, I just fold it flat and slip it into my briefcase.

I've been using one for about a two years. Took a short trip out of the country recently and left it at home, thinking it'd be one less thing to carry, but missed it sorely. I decided I will not be without my pocket briefcase or my pocket knife, again (although I have to put the knife in checked baggage!)

It's a great thing to have to write a memo to yourself, make a list, leave a note for someone, or carry cards, money, etc. (A passport won't fit, though.)

It fits in my pants pocket.

And I DO carry fountain pens in my pocket. No problems so far.

Can either of you provide a product name or number for what you purchased? I have looked at both the OD and OM web sites, and can't pull anything up by the manufacturer's name. Thanks!

Here is a link for it as Office Depot.

Edit: I cut off the pen loop, as it did not seem to go well with a pants pocket lifestyle.

I carry a daytimer pocket cover with any ol' 3x5 spiral notebook (waiting on levenger/circa stuff so i can make my 3x5s with my own paper).

I found it in a drawer -- used it back in the days before PDAs and cellphones and it's perfect. Holds my thinner hero pens in the loop and the bit of extra protection and bend-prevention has allowed my pens to survive in my front jeans pocket without incident.
