When did S.T. Dupont change their lettering / logo / font?

Do any S.T. Dupont aficionados know when they transitioned from the more stylized "S" and "T" on their boxes and band engravings to the more streamlined design on the current models? Pictures below...the first is the current one, and the other one I'm not sure about when it was in use, or even if it still is in use.

Bump, and a follow up. If you have one of the pens with the more scrolled engraving, would you list it here or even attach a picture if you've got one?

I had a Dupont from '98 and it was the old ornate lettering (a golddust Olympio, prior to name change), another from 2002 (iridescent purple Fidelio, also prior to the name change) which had the same older style. All my other Duponts are 2004 and later and have the newer updated logo. So I'm thinking it was in 2003-2004 that the change occurred. Probably when they changed to the new naming system of Orpheo L, XL and Contemporary

To the left, there's the old 40 ml bottle which came in a red box. The new 50 ml bottle at the center comes in a black box.

The change might have happened in this decade, but I'm not sure.

My old Montparnasse FP, RB and BP and my Classique RB do have the old logo engraved.

Thanks Feiye and saintsimon!

I was trying to place one of the Orpheo/Olympios I have and thought it must be NOS, because of the scrolly lettering. I wasn't sure exactly how old the old stock was, however. Now I can peg it to at least pre-2004.

It's an interesting change, to say the least...not drastic enough to attract undue attention, with the change affecting only the logo's initials. I'd be curious to know if unauthorized replicas influenced the switch in any way.

I forgot my Dupont watch, which I have worn today. :headsmack:

The S.T. Dupont Geometrie rectangulaire watch has the old logo. I bought it about four or five years ago. So the old logo was used in the first half of this decade.

I have a "Plume moyen modèle Olympio by S.T. Dupont série St Petersbourg", a LE of 300 issued in 2003 (bought mine in September 2003). Old style lettering on both box and pen.

In 2004 they had the old logo.

In 2006 they had the new one.

Unfortunately I haven't any document or catalog for 2005, so I cannot check...

I would never even have thought about old catalogs, that's a great way to "document" brand changes and model tweaks, so to speak. Thanks for the extra verification, Susanna.

well, look at this one...

This is the second page of 2005 catalog, which shows the logo (the new one) and the release date of this catalog (Apr. 2005), so can we conclude that it was year 2005 that Dupont changed its logo?

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
