What's the best color for the M600?

It may be just me, but I do find some colors look best on specific models. What are your thoughts re: the M600? Also, is the striated bodies more durable or scratch resistant than the solid colors? Thx.

Hi,

I think the striped are less likely to show scratches I have the M600 in Blue and Red stripe and love both (also an OS in Green stripe, same size as M400 but with an 18ct nib).

The OS Burgundy is nice, I have an OS 600 BP in that colour, doesn't match any of my Pels, but sometimes get paired with the Red Stripe or Red M200 Demo.

It is just you. All of the colors look equally nice on every model to all of us. :)

I think red and green striped versions look better than the others. My eyes are set on the 625s though, they are in a different class.

I'm leaning towards the black and gold, or the green stripe. The red, however, does also catch my eye. As an aside, the 805 blue stripe with silver trim looks cool.

The Blue Stripe Sovereign is the classiest looking to me.

Agreed, but then I'm very partial to my M800 blue striated with black cap Pelikan.

I'd like to someday get an M800 green striated, preferably an "Old Style", mostly because the green stripes I believe are the original classic design.

For the M600, I'm still partial to the solid blue M605 2004 Limited Edition, a great color combination of solid deep blue and silver furniture, that's perfect for all-occasions.

If the M600 line wasn't too small and too light for me I'd go with that one, actually I'd still have one but it didn't fit my hand when writing so I have little use for M60x in any color.

I've heard the striated bodies are more scratch-resistant than the solids, from a few people that have or have both styles but I've not had first-hand experience in this area.

They flow across paper as a brush to canvas, transforming my thoughts into words and my words into art.

There is nothing else like it; the art of writing and the painting of words!”

Green...

The great thing with human brains is they're fanless, nice and quiet, although I'm sure mine whistles a bit sometimes...

I think the solid blue M605 is a pretty color too... but I'll admit that a striped version is more scratch resistant.

I've no idea about scratch resistance but for scratch hiding I suspect the striated would be better than the solid colours. Certainly the striated finishes are better at hiding fingerprints and dust than the solid colours.

it would be really cool if each of the sizes (M400, M600, M800, etc) had one color specific and limited to only that size. I would love to see a dark purple striped M600 with gold trim ....

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
