This model has fallen into our hands ... and I is impressive. For all we know is a great success. Yesterday I did a "review" and we were surprised (but was safe because it had "tasted" jajaja).

Here I leave with you some pictures:

Beautiful pen. I really like the design.

Is a Pelikan without a piston still a Pelikan?

:hmm1:

Jokes aside, I have an Omas with ACS system which is a similar feature than this one. It's the worst filling system ever in my opinion. You can't use a converter and the pen is more difficoult to flush and dry.

Cheers,

I think this is the best looking pen Pelikan makes but that filling system is a real shame. If it was a piston filler or even a CC I would get one for sure.

I bought it when it had just come onto the market. Althouth it is cartridge filler it the the most comfortable and smooth writer that I have! (This includes most of the modern pelikans which are fabulous in their own right but in looks, feel and performance the ductus is super and is my most used writer.

As I mentioned on Pentrace, I think an M215 in this configuration, with black barrel and pin-striped cap and piston knob, would look awesome. Best,

Love the design. Hate the cartridge only filling system. It's too limiting for me.

I"m really surprised at the comments! When we first talked about this pen when it came out, a lot of people really did not like it. Me included. However to each his own. I'm glad there are at least some people that enjoy the pen. The Cartridge thing is what kills it for me. If it included a converter I would at least take a look at it. I think it's a classy design wise though the more I look at it.

Does anyone know if the nibs are as easily swapped out as the "good old" piston Pels?

Doug

P.S. I like the way the Ductus looks, but like the others, the converter-only system kinda kills it for me.

Cellulophile, I think you are exactly right. The stripes pick up on traditional Pelikan design cues, and moving them from the binde to the cap and blind cap ring the changes in an exciting way. I have my doubts about the clip though - there could have been more of a nod to the Pelikan bill. As it is, it looks a bit pinched at the top.

By the way, the Ductus looks to have been designed for Pelikan by an outfit called Yellow Design, together with the Pura, Epoch and Griffix - interesting, because I have often thought that there is a schizophrenic quality to Pelikan's recent designs, and now I know the reason why.

I had one. The nibs do indeed unscrew and the pen does indeed take a converter. The one I had came with a so-so nib, so I sent it to chartpak and the one that came back was superbly smooth! J

...OOOOOO...This is a beautiful pen! And if it takes converters...it will be in the top of my wishlist. I love this pen. A modern and classy version of Pelikan. I love that clip - I do think it gives a wink to the traditional beek clip. Of course it is a pity that it doesn't come with a piston, but if it takes a converter I'll go for it. Thanks John Cullen for this vital piece of information!

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
