This is the new Lexington Gray by Noodler's. I find it a very enjoyable and useful ink. :)

How can you tell when you're out of invisible ink?

Superb review! Thanks. Very nice scan (or is it a photo?). Glad to see it's a true, neutral gray and it shades. From the places where you went over it twice, looks like it would be a nice darker gray out of a wet nib. Superb!

Awesome krz, thanks. I have never used a gray ink yet (unless you count my bottle of Quink Black ^_^

I am thinking about getting a bottle of Lex. Gray. Anyone know if there is a better match to a Chrome and Rhodium VP? I would prefer if the ink were at least water-resistant, though it doesn't have to be bulletproof.

Well for you, if you wrestle on, for in persistency lies victory, and with the morning may come the wished-for blessing. But not always; there is a struggle with defeat which some of you will have to bear, and it will be well for you if you have cultivated a cheerful equanimity. Remember, too, that sometimes 'from our desolation only does the better life begin.' Even with disaster ahead, it is better to face them with a smile, and with the head erect, than to crouch at their approach. And, if the fight is for principle and justice, even when failure seems certain, where many have failed before, cling to your ideal, and, like Childe Roland before the dark tower, set the slug-horn to your lips, blow the challenge, and calmly await the conflict.

It is cheaper to buy a noodlers black bottle and dilute it 1/10 with water. You get a very similar ink, at 1/10th the price ;)

Unfortunately that would also give you 1/10th the UV protection, so at least for artwork or anything you need to last; I'd stick with the Lexington Gray.

How can you tell when you're out of invisible ink?

Thanks for the great review. I tossed up between Lexington Gray and Manjiro Nakahama when I was looking for a dark gray ink. I went with the Nakahama which I really like, but it does not perform well in all of my pens. Maybe next time........

I ordered a sample of Lexington Gray on a whim from Pear Tree Pens. It has been one of my favorites ever since.

I've just bought one. Behaves very well even on cheap copy paper. Shades nicely. Very good water resistance. Only one disadvantage is the specific smell of this ink - just from personal point of view...

      Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

      It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

      Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

      @asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
