EBay UK Seller

Has anyone here purchased from "mark1332" on EBay UK? There seem to be some good buys here but the seller always/often refers to MONT BLANC rather than MONTBLANC and calls the pens MEISTUCK rather than MEISTERSTUK (hope I got that right). For a very experienced seller this seems unusual. Also EBay often cautions about strange spelling of high cost items.

I am embarrassed to admit that I was once scammed over a Montblanc on EBay when I was sent a copy from China and did not get my money back - Paypal can be quite mean when it comes to refunds whatever their advertising says.

Any comments/information would be appreciated.

These looks real to me. Certain about the 149s. I'm not the best one to judge for the C/C FPs and BPs, but they look A-OK to me as well. Didn't see anything particularly suspect, I looked at all of the pens he's selling now and the completed listings. I've got a few of the newest MB fakes/replicas, the best you can get, to compare against.

A lot of people will list pens as "Mont Blanc" rather than Montblanc. A lot of actual stores will do this. I chalk the Meisterstueck bit up to ignorance.

That said, oftentimes on eBay people selling chronically mispelt MB pens are selling replicas. Lately I've seen a lot of Montbianc, MontbIanc, etc. Anyone selling a scads of brand new MBs for a $30 Buy It Now is selling a fake. This guy does not appear to be.

Mmmm....spelling doesn't always mean a scam. Person may list Mont Blanc or Montblanc to attract buyers. I usually put both in my auctions. Also, Montblanc often lists themselves as "Mont Blanc" on alot of their literature themselves. So technically, I wouldnt say either is wrong.

In regards to Meisterstuck, could be a spelling error, or maybe they think they're jumping the scammer beam by mispelling it.

If you have a doubt, post a pic for us to look at.

That's your best bet.

One should ONLY pay with a Paypal account backed with a credit card, never a bank account. That way you can always collect, first from Paypal, but if they come up dry (i.e. find in your favour but the seller has no money in their account) then from the credit card.

I heartily agree. It appears that I am going to have my first claim after almost 10 years on eBay because I have not received the item. I did use my credit card via PayPal, so I've got that going for me.

Hard times don't last, but hard people do.

Thank a Veteran.

Don't go through paypal or ebay to contest your claim.

Rather go directly through your credit card company. The credit card company is on your side.

Paypal's loyalties are divided. My CC company has come through for me each time.

I'd call your CC company, explain what happened, fill out the form, print all correspondence, copies of receipts and postal stubs, etc to support your claim.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
