Sterling Silver Inoxcrom

I would like to ask if you guys have been able to experience using the sterling silver sirroco of Inoxcrom. Is the price $200 acceptable. How do you compare it to a waterman patrician. They are of the same price here in my area?

By the way is the silver a whole block of silver or just overlayyed?

Thanks

Personally I'd be a bit grumbly about paying that much for a pen with the same steel nib as the much-cheaper Wall Streets - I don't think Inoxcrom makes any higher-end nibs.

It does look nice, though.

Hi silvermink. Actually here in my country the sirrocco sterling silver are equipped with solid gold nibs.

Hi Ordina, how does your resin body sirrocco hold up to scratches?

By the way thanks for the pictures. The pen is really beautiful

The pen is not mine, unfortunately, nor the writing samples. It belongs to a friend and he has had the pen for over two years of daily use with good results, the resin holds up well, as the gold plated parts.

Silvermink, you can have the pen in the regular -and great, the truth- gold plated ss version or the 14k one. Can't say what's the price difference though.

I like the size, design and balance of the pen, but most of all, the nib's performance.

Edited to add that I just found the retail price of the pen with the 14k nib is 259€

In fact, they do. The Wall Street is also available with a 14k nib.

Sirocco would be around 150 € in Spain with steel nib (punto metal).

It is a nice FP, vintage style and available with 14K gold nib as some other guys have said.

I would go for it if you do not care abour brands. Actually the company "Inoxcrom" changed name a few months ago: they now manufacture promotional gifts. So getting it would be like buying the last ones of a long tradition.

You can have a look at what they do now in www.ixcbarcelona.com/

Some shops where you can buy that FP in Spain are (but I am not sure if they take orders from outside Spain)

http://www.sacristan.com (Gold nib meaning punto oro)

So is it likely that they'll be changing the name of the pen line. and drop the manufacture of the higher end pens like the sirrocco. If this is the case I should start saving an buy the pen

Huh. I didn't think Inoxcrom did any gold nibs. I might have to investigate this.

I have two of them, a Carbone which has always been great (especially for the 150 pesos I paid for it in Mexico) and a Wall Street which has been a bit of a disappointment (scratchy in one direction, but doesn't appear to be misaligned).

Nos:

That´s what I did last month. I put the whole country upside down to find a model called "Caravel", created in the 90´s. I even e-mailed the factory to find out. :)) and.. they had a few left. :))

How do I know if the sirrocco i'll be buying was still made in spain? The main reason I'll be buying this pen is not becasue it is nice buy also the heritage that goes along with the pen. thanks

In your opinion what is the counterpart of the sirocco with the waterman models?

I have just replied in the other topic you've opened with the same question. The Sirocco is Inoxcrom's present flagship pen. So an Edson or a Sèrènité, I suppose.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
