Fountain Pen for Carbon Copies

I would suggest you look at some snorkels with the "porpoise" or triumph nib or a Sheaffer Imperial with the inlaid nib.

Both very solid nibs. Though very stiff, the Imperial is one of my favorite daily writers and I picked it up used, obviously, for $15 a few years ago from one of the pen forums. You should be able to find user grade snorkels for $25-40.

Just to toss in my 2 cents:

One of my 1st posts here asked this same question and I've sourced and used pretty much every pen mentioned in this thread thus far.

My thoughts on a few:

Hero 360: Pass. Hunk of junk. It does write, i'd rather use a bp.

Estie w/ manifold nib: works wonderfully, just purchased one recently.

Parker Duofold Sr / Jr: not quite stiff enough, but serviceable.

Parker '51: my current daily user "manifolding" pen... a demi-vac but all my '51s work.

Various Hero '51 clones (329, 100 etc...): work but not as smooth as the Parkers

Wahl-Eversharp w/ Manifold nib: works great, one of my favorites, but I'd rather risk a '51 at my job so they stay home.

Sheaffers: never really clicked for me... they work fine, just not to my taste. Perhaps just a touch tooo much flex.

Sailor Trident: Don't own one (yet), but it works as advertised when I used one.

Omas 361: worked as advertised, actively seeking one for my own collection now

Various low-end Lamy: weren't quite stiff enough for my paperwork, but good pens

I've tried several others, but the above are the ones that jump to mind quickly. I don't yet own an Omas 361 or Sailor Trident, I will someday though.

My picks of the above, doing triplicate carbonless paperwork daily at work would be as follows:

1. Parker '51. Good enough for all writing, works fine for manifold work

2. Hero '51 clones: same as above, just not as smooth overall

3. A tie between Estie w/ 9460 and Wahl w/ marked Manifold.... wonderful writers that simply work. But perhaps too nice to be used in a potentially "sacrificial work pen" setting.

My 2 (maybe 3) cents. Try em all, luckly most of the suggested pens are fairly modest in price.

I have Pelikan 100N with CN (Chrome Nickel) DF (druchschrebein Fein) nib. This is, let say, vintage manifold nib. It was tuned by Richard Binder and I love it...

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
