FP friendly post-it/sticky notes

I am a heavy user of post-it notes. I read for a living, and the way I make notes is stick post-its to books. The idea is to discuss with myself while I read, where I read it. A big book can have close to a hundred post-its spilling out. Works for me.

The paper on normal stickies I get from the Uni is awful: ink doesn't sink in and if I am writing with a wet pen I have to use blotting paper before turning the leaf, avoid making a mess in the book. Very annoying. Fp-friendly post-its would be bliss.

Help?

3M post-its seem to be fountain pen friendly to me. I wrote on mine with a fairly wet writing Waterman Ideal and the results were fine. How wet is the pen you're using?

I use either a wet-medium Sheaffer Imperial or a wet fine Pelikan M625. My postits are Corporate-Express or something, never seen them anywhere else. Any ink on it takes 10+ secs to dry.

The only problems I've had with post-it notes are the yellow ones. Ink feathers like mad on those. I'm currently using some orange recycled ones and they work wonderfully.

I know this isn't as convenient, but 3M sells Scotch tape with the Post-It adhesive on it. I used to use it a lot when I was in industry to tape stuff into lab notebooks. It also works well for holding paper to a drafting table. You could cut and pad pieces of paper that you like, then put them in the book with the tape.

I know, I know... too much work...

I had this problem a while ago. It was from generic yellow post-it notes. The

top 1/3rd or so was like it had wax on it from the sticky stuff. Tried the 3M Brand

ones, and was able to write on the whole face (a little bit of feathering) without

any problems. Same as jbb's brand.

You hit the nail on the head: it is the waxed bit that is most problematic for FPs. Ink dries much quicker elsewhere. Genius. Need to buy the 3Ms then. Cheers everyone! M.

I recently bought green-blue blocks of Post-It from Akateeminen kirjakauppa in Helsinki. It says "Post-it Notes 3M" at the back paper and they are made of recycled paper and they are both beautiful and very nice to write on with FP:s. :)
