In the spirit of the Estie Loaner Program, here is a TWBI loaner program.

For those of you who might have difficulty reading my writing or reading cursive... here is the short version of the rules.

The pens are part of my collection. I'm willing to loan them out. I'm also interested in loaning them out with an ink that I'm reviewing so we can do some co-reviews.

All members may participate, but I may request you post a bond for the replacement of the pen. I want my pens back in great shape.

I am willing to loan out 3 of the 540s and 2 Vac 700s. For the Vac 700s, the nibs have been customized. For the 540s you can email me if you'd like to try a custom nib. I do not have any XF, F or even M nibs. I have stubs and broads. (Sounds kinky).

Borrower will pay for shipping and insurance both directions.

You may borrow a pen for a month.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

That's a very generous offer. If you don't mind my asking, what aspects of TWSBIs most appeal to you, and what is your favorite nib on a TWSBI? I've been eyeing Pendleton Brown's stubbed TWSBIs, but new models come out before I've made a decision.

My thoughts on the M200 compared to the TWSBI 540.

Today, we received 3 pens from the private collection of the TWSBI family.... to add to our loaner program.

So, do we have three more individuals who want to try a TWSBI?

In short, I love it  I'm with you on posting; you can but it's a mighty long pen if you do. Lovely balance unposted. Fellow FPNers, you have to try the Tomahawk stub mod by LahLahLaw. Yeah, yeah, I know it looks a little strange but if you love a juicy nib you're gonna love this mod. I'm sending him a Nussbaum Phoenix with a M nib; can't wait to see how it writes when I get it back. I'm thinking :cloud9:

Great ink! Nothing like the Salix I tried although some of that (a lot of that?) may be the nib. I wrote some comments on p. 2 (second image). I expected to have to give the pen a shake from time to time but haven't had to even once - and I've used it a lot. Never a hard start, never a skip. Guess the surface tension issue (or whatever it was) has resolved itself. I hope I can get a few bottles in the group buy (I'd really like to get a bottle of brown for dcpritch).

How does the 540 compare to the 580?

Breathe. Take one step at a time. Don't sweat the small stuff. You're not getting older, you are only moving through time. Be calm and positive.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
