Let Me Introduce You To My Flock - Pic Heavy

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone. I had the day off today and my wife went to work so that left me some time to do something that I could never do under her watchful eye… photograph the flock. I think a formal introduction is long overdue. Just for your reference, <X> indicates nib size. Depicted below are 64 of my 65 birds at the time of this posting. Enjoy!

Lets start with some Pelikan peripherals…Large blue pen holder and gold, silver, and white small pen rest. 1, 2, and 3 pen cases

That's a neat collection. Are you collecting ALL Pelikans or only the Souverän series?

Thanks for showing.

You had me at "Pelikan peripherals"!

Beautiful collection and so well presented through your photos, thank you for that.

One of my favorite titles in a thread is Pic Heavy! Well done!

All I can say is wow. That is a tremendous collection. I am superbly jealous of that amber demonstrator.

I'm open to collecting all Pelikans but my focus is the M100-M250 series. I ultimately want to collect every variation released in that series. I've been researching for a while now and have come up with a total of 72 pens over that range. I'm about 2/3 of the way there.

The first thing that comes to mind is the Sultan of Brunei who (allegedly) has one copy of every Mercedes ever produced in his garage :yikes: :lticaptd:

Nice collection but do you get to write with all of them?

Thanks for sharing !

And congrats !

I didn't know that the M200 existed with 2 rings on the cap and I had never seen a M200 Tortoise brown before as well !

Everyone of them gets written with. I usually have 1-2 inked up at a time. Each week sees a new pen or two pulled into rotation and the prior weeks pen flushed, cleaned, and stored.

Do you happen to have a side by side, uncapped pic of your 400NN, 120, and 140?

I don't have any of those pics available. I'll try to do that at some point if I'm able.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
