Orange-Blue And Blue-Orange

Recommended Posts

Just want to show 3 pens I finished last week.

First one has an ivory colored body and tortoise colored cap and comes with Bock (labeled Laban) 18k gold nib size M.

The others are made of orange and blue acrylic, one marbled and the other cracked design. Those also have Bock #250 nibs.

Hope you like it and your comments are most welcome. If you want to see more of my work, just take a look at my instagram account. https://www.instagram.com/saar.pen/

Kind regards,

Volker

Beautiful work... I am sure whoever gets these pens will love them forever... Now please, my comment is just my own opinion ..

I would have preferred if both orange and blue pens were completely made of the blue or orange material (no silver/gold middle piece)... and.. Just for my taste, I believe silver nib on blue and gold colored nib on orange are more suitable.

My opinion only.... they are still quite beautiful.

Many thanks for your comments.

@ kapanak: The nib is made by Bock for Laban, it is an 18k-750 Gold size M.

@cyber6: Yes, it looks better if the grip has the same color as the barrel.

I am using the Bock sections because it is very easy to change the nib with feeder (screw type) and customer can buy additional nib units for a low price and change. Bock offers the grip in 7 different metal finishes as matte or shiny black, matte or shiny gold, matte or shiny chrome and Ruthenium. So I have to turn the Bock grip and make a bushing matching the pen.

Actually the pen has a Bock 23k-950 Palladium nib as expensive as an 18k Gold.

Kind regards,

Volker

I fixed that for you... !!! :D :D

Yes, it looks MUCH better... I understand is easier (and cheaper) with the bock nib/grip section... but you can't deny that now it looks much more elegant.... :puddle: :puddle:

And Silver looks much better with Blue.

Good job...

Sorry, Cyber6, you're right :o Growing older day by day......

It is not much more expensive, just about half an hour work to turn the Bock grip to a diameter of 8.95mm, turn the acrylic grip, polish, drill 9mm and glue it.

Kind regards,

Volker

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
