Alfred Hitchcock Pen

Well, the pen is awkwardly proportioned in the photos, but so was the man! I think it's perfectly fitting to have the pen appear stocky.

I think it'a stunning. I like the vertigo effect, the rivet effect on the clip and metal thing going on. Think it's really a beautiful. Of course I like the IWC steel thing and Panerai. So maybe that's the root of it, but I also like all the subtle little touches to celebrate AH's work. I think MB hit it right on this one.

I can relate to your views.

Just looking at the symbology;

First noticed the black squares top and bottom of the cap representing 70mm film. Then there is the Psycho 'knife' clip with "Stainless steel' engraved thereon - I would think this would remain on the production version - and maybe 'dishwasher safe' on the other side! Blood red body. Rotund shape and unforgettable iconic doodle of Hitchcock on the nib. But what are the tally marks? (9 vertical lines with a diagonal through them) on the bullet shaped filler knob or is it the '39 steps' as portrayed as 'footprints' on the LE80.

'Vertigo' and 'The ring' already mentioned. Any Sir Alfred aficionados out there?

You don't know what you need until you realise you haven't got it.

The tally marks on the cone of the standard limitation represent the 53 films Hitchcock directed. Additionally, the "Mr. Hitchcock | Phoenix, AZ | Friday, December 11th" engraved around the bottom of the cap refers to the day that filming for Psycho began.

Thanks for sharing Meghan.

I am underwhelmed and my wallet safe.

The star is not great, the LE of 80 pen should probably have MOP.

The metal section is tacky and cheap and the step down....

Nice try but back to the drawing board... Nothing to drag me back from vintage MB

This is a new series called GREAT CHARACTERS. The first one is Gandhi followed by Hitchcock. You can see the same style of design especially on the surface of the lacquer. Compared to Gandhi, there are more superb design elements on Hitchcock. I do not think there must be MOP on higher price pens. Hitchcock is a special pen whatever you like it or not.

I keep going back and forth thru the posts, then back to the photos and I really do like this cigar shaped torpedo pen. I'm not big on the metal sections, but I've learned to overlook it with the Montegrappa, so I think I can do the same here, because I do like almost everything else about this pen. I especially like the white patches on the gray spiral psycho exterior. I guess the only thing missing is some blood looking lacquer that would start at the cap and fade away gradually :)

I'm gonna do my best to get one...

cheers

Just another reason to keep reaching for the green or grey striated 146's as

a grail pen.

It might have been nice to see a motif somewhere along 'The Birds,' but the black waves are kind of fun.

Well that white thing on top of the cap kinda looks like bird splat -- at least some people refer to the logo as such.

And so you should Wael

It would be boring if we all loved the same pens.....and such a fight for the rare ones!

Let us know how you like it.

I had my Hitchcock to exchange for BB. He is on the way to Germany. There is separation anxiety now.

I thought the Hitchcock is not officially released till January?? At least for the US. How did you manage to have a pen not released for a nib exchange?

Regards!
