Montblanc spotting

Hello everyone,

I decided to start yet another thread. This time after seeing, what I think is, a Montblanc in a movie. Have you seen a Montblanc somewhere and got a photo of it? Post it here! Also, if you have seen a MB in "real life", tell us!

I start: (if anyone can identify it, tell me. I'm not sure, but it looks like a MB Solitaire, like the one jeen has):

The photo was taken from a movie called Taken (haha, funny but true :roflmho: ). Great movie, a lot of suspense and violence..

Missed that while it was in cinemas here :/

I think Tom Wilkinson's character was using a MontBlanc (with stub nib!) in Duplicity.

Tom Hanks seems to be using a MB Silver Solitaire bp in the first scenes of "The Da Vinci Code", when sitting at a table and doing book signings.

CSI New York "Some Buried Bones" Season 3, Episode 15

A collage student is stabbed with a Montblanc Proust. The pen is also full of blood when they find it.

Thats just such a WRONG thing to do to that kind of pen! :yikes: If you gonna do it, use a Bic or any other cheap ballpoint! :D

I seem to remember there was a MB 144 in The War of the Roses with Michael Douglas and Kathleen Turner. I think she was signing a cheque or something like that.

Roger Moore used a 146/149 in For Your Eyes Only. Of course it was modified by Q branch to be a wireless radio and squirt acid or something....

I was a victim of a series of accidents, as are we all...

John Malkovich's wife's divorce lawyer has what looks like a LeGrand rollerball on his desk in "Burn After Reading". The new British boss appears to have a 149 in the season premiere of "Mad Men".

Regards,

Jim

I actually have the MB Solitaire Vermeil and inkwell that was used by Dennis Hopper in The Day We Called It a Night (2003), which was about Frank Sinatra's tour of Australia. I bought them at the Sydney MB boutique in 2001 at discount. They came with a "provenance" letter, attesting to the fact that they were used in the movie, which I never saw.

Very interesting Richard. Now I'll have to see the film. What size Solitaire? Do you use it?

In the movie "Philadelphia", Tom Hanks uses a classique rollerball in several seens as he writes in his notebook. Also, a 149 in it's desk holder can be seen on Denzel Washington's desk in the same movie.

In the movie "Casino", Robert DeNiro (at the end of the movie) is at his desk writing with a gold Solitaire.

You not tempted to see your pen in glorious action?

Did the pen come with any stills from the movie dictation your pens fawless acting debut?

Check out the Fritz Lang film: The Testament of Dr. Mabuse (1933). In the film, Tom (a common criminal with a heart of gold who is eventually converted to a more conventional and law-abiding existence by a very sweet young woman) writes a farewell letter to the woman who loves him. He uses a stunning Montblanc fountain pen.

It's a 146 gold vermeil pinstripe, M nib. Yes, I use it, but not very often since it's a rather dry writer and skips on downstrokes if I'm writing too quickly. I need to get it adjusted one of these days (years?).

I tried to rent the film via Netflix awhile back, but it wasn't available at the time. And no, no stills, just the letter from the producers thanking the MB boutique for the use of the pen, inkwell and assorted accessories, such as cufflinks. The letter is sort of an inventory of the items that were loaned to the film producers.
