GULP!

:puddle:

Really, this is treat for my eyes...

Out of curiosity, may I pose you just a couple questions as a non-collector (speaking about MBs, I have only a very beloved and daily used 149):

  • Do you keep them at home or in a bank vault?
  • Do you ever use them (I see some are stickered with nib size)?

I prefer not to think about money value.

Daddy, please no more pens - we need food, clothes, books, DENTISTRY...

Thanks for your comments. Actually,at present I have these pens in my house. In the future I will order a show window so as to place them inside for presentation. I don't use them. I am a collector.

Beautiful pens. :notworthy1:

Just out of curiosity, it seems that in your collection there is not a 149 (unless what I'm taking for a 146 is instead a 149).

Why?

Genny

Edit: Maybe I have understood; all your pens, with just one exception, do not have gold furniture.

The 75th comes with a gorgeous box, excellent for display purposes.

STOP THAT I'm telling you STOP THAT !!!

My heart is too weak to see all these pens in one group and knowing I will probably will never own them.

Wow, what a collection! Thanks for sharing those great images.

From the pens you show I have the SS 146, the regular 146 and the Kafka :-) and I might be adding the Dickens for Christmas.

But seeing those skeletons side by side is just great.

So, which ones do you like using the best? Do you care about the nib size on those Limited Edition pens?

From those I like the Black Widow the best.

Cheers

Michael

You know a Proust would look fantastic in your collection. Or even a JP Morgan...

Thank you Bryant about your comments. To be honest I really like Proust and Morgan. However, I think Christie is a better choice for my collection. If I add more silver colour pens in my collection then I think my collection will become unvaried (humdrum). I really love Christie. As far as I am concern you have one. You are lucky.

You are absolutely right. In my collection there is not a 149. The reason is simple. I don't like the yellow gold pens. The only exception is the skeleton 75th anniversary. For me it is extremely beautiful pen. I think it is the best pen in my collection. Thus I bought it without any doubts.

Thank you for your comments. Indeed I have this presentation box. It is very very nice big heavy box with big mignify glass on the top of it. When you place the pen inside of the box and you look at it the feeling is unique.

Goodguy, I had the same feelings as you, a few years ago. Now I almost have what I was dreaming. So in the future you may have what it is now seems impossible.

Best regards

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth

There is still chemistry for processing regular chrome (positive) films like Kodak Ektachrome and Fuji Velvia, but Kodachrome was a completely different and multistep beast.

Ah, but how to get it processed - that is the question. I believe that the last machine able to run K-14 (Kodachrome processing) ceased to operate some 15 or so years ago. Perhaps the film will be worth something as a curiosity in my estate sale when I die. 😺

Take a lot of photos!   If the film has deteriorated or 'gone off' in any way, you can use that as a 'feature' to take 'arty' pictures - whether of landmarks, or people, or whatever.
