Just a group photo of the Bordeaux resin variants in the Meisterstuck FP family.

 

From L-R: 114R-Mozart, 144R-Classique, 145R-Chopin, 147R-Le Grand Traveller, 146R-Le Grand.

My 146R is much smaller than my 147R. I also found it interesting that the nib size(length) on the Mozart is nearly the same size as the Chopin. Maybe that is why the Mozart is such a nice pen to use despite its small size.

Hari, the Traveler is one MB I have an interest in, mainly because it is cartridge filled and not piston. Is there any chance we could get pictures of the innards?

I love the traveller. The nib on this particular one was tuned for me by Mr. John Sorowka. I will take some more pictures of the innards.

Internals of the Traveller:

 

Even though full sized, the traveller is designed to accept only cartridges. The pen is loaded from the rear. Unscrewing the rear knob reveals the cartridge tray. The threads are metal on metal. The tray can hold two international short cartridges. The tray is so designed that you can also load it with just a single cartridge if you wish. the projection on the centre of the tray does the trick. The reserve cartridge is mounted in the tray with a spring action, you can see the spring hidden inside the knob in the last picture. The tray is precision formed. It is sensitive to minute variations in the international standard cartriges. The MB carts fit very well. The Diamine will fit too. The Pelikan ones won't fit, I found to my dismay, in both my travellers. Also one cannot use the international long carts.

I'm always fascinated when I see a Mozart, it is sooo small. Great to see it against all the other pens in the range.

 

I've got a black/gold trim 147. I notice your's is larger than the 146. Is this true for all 146/147s? I always assumed they were the same size.

My 147 is quite a bit larger than my late 70's 146.

Nice photos, Hari.

 

I've had several of the Bordeaux fountain and ballpoint pens and pencils, but have culled my Bordeaux collection down to my very nice 146R italicized BB and my 114R factory B.

 

The little one hasn't been used in years, but I'd never get my money out of it if I tried to sell it. Little pens are like that. :(

I do not like cartridge pens. I like this one. It looks like the tray might add a more substantial feel to this pen...

I've got a Bordeaux 144 that was given to me in the 1980s. I was very taken with the Mozart when it appeared, wish I'd followed my instincts and bought one! Thanks for the great photos.

The sizes have varied quite a bit over time and the older celluloid 146s were even smaller.

Wish mb didn't stop making Bordeaux. Bit sad when ppl list them for sale as unique and collectable

      Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

      It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

      Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

      @asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
