Ever feel dumb as a box of rocks..... LOL

I have a couple of Vacumatics to fix for a customer...

Took the first one apart.... got is soaking to get rid of the old ink in the section and barrel....

Grabbed the second pen..... put it down on the felt pad that I use to protect the pens from the desk top...

Unscrewed the section and noticed that the filler tube was wet... did not think anything about it...

Put the body down on the pad and a load of ink pours out onto the felt pad soaking it completely...

In the back of my mind I am cursing this customer (who also happens to be a friend) for giving me a pen filled with ink...

Fortunately, I keep a bunch of these felt pads around... so I throw out the pad and put down a new one.

I wipe off the pen body and take off the blind cap ..... I find a speedline filler.......

Wait a minute... something is wrong here.... I distinctly remember that both Vacumatics has plastic fillers...

Then it hit me....

I picked up my personal filled Vacumatic without looking and took off the section... that pen was recently filled with Borealis Black...

Generally, I move my rotations pens out of the way when working on customer's pens... for some reason this time I did not move that one...

Dumb as a box of rocks.... Dumb I tell you.... :bonk: :roflmho: :bonk:

Is that the pen you were writing about recently???

At moments like that, I'm always glad I'm not out driving in the car ;)

May we live, not by our fears but by our hopes; not by our words but by our deeds; not by our disappointments but by our dreams.

There's only one cure for when something like that happens....grab wallet and car keys, and head to nearest Sonic location.
