Parker Sonnet vs Waterman Carene

I have several Sonnets and a few Carenes. I have a slight preference for the Sonnet over the Carene.

Carene nibs are generally much smoother. Carene nibs are more limited. Sonnet offers more nib types in 18K and steel. Both pens tend to dry out too fast for my taste, so I use them infrequently now, inking the pen up before writing with it. Then they work to perfection. Of all of the Carenes and Sonnets, my favorite is a Sonnet Firedance with a medium italic 18K nib. This nib is much more enjoyable to write with than the stubs in 18K from Sonnet or Carene. That medium italic is a good reason to write with a Sonnet. The Carene extra fine is a good reason to use a Carene.

I would really rather use a Parker 51 or a Waterman Crusader.
