The shape and grip takes a bit getting used to.

I put mine somewhere in my library and haven't been able to find it for a long time now.

Excellent review!

The Exception is truly an exceptional pen. I have 3 slims -2 black ones and a Marks of Time in vermeil and they are absolutely dream writers. Probably the smoothest Waterman nib for me of all my Waterman's. I probably wont get the large one as the slim one is just the right weight for comfortable writing.

Many congrats on your purchase! Enjoy your pen....

Wonderful review.

I absolutely adore my Waterman. It writes like a charm and I find it so beautiful. It also has the right weight for my taste.

never cared for it and never like it, it will never equal the man 100

Pens are like watches , once you start a collection, you can hardly go back. And pens like all fine luxury items do improve with time

Dragged it out of the mothballs last week and am quite impressed with this pen.

I made a lot of impulse purchases a decade ago that are paying off nicely.

Here's mine playing havoc on the icons of my ipad.

Nice review of an exceptional pen. A lot of thought seems to have gone into its design, making the pen counter-intuitively omfortabe to hold. Rather weighty, though.

During my neurasthenic episodes it seems too bulky and the design is frustrating, otherwise it is very impressive.

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth

There is still chemistry for processing regular chrome (positive) films like Kodak Ektachrome and Fuji Velvia, but Kodachrome was a completely different and multistep beast.

Ah, but how to get it processed - that is the question. I believe that the last machine able to run K-14 (Kodachrome processing) ceased to operate some 15 or so years ago. Perhaps the film will be worth something as a curiosity in my estate sale when I die. 😺

Take a lot of photos!   If the film has deteriorated or 'gone off' in any way, you can use that as a 'feature' to take 'arty' pictures - whether of landmarks, or people, or whatever.
